Re: Player Status
Feeling like coming back cause I'm toying with character ideas. Unfortunately kismet requirements shoot them down every time. Found Keller too boring, don't want to do another neutral/good human. Sadness. edit: Not wanting to come off as a whiner or appealing for changes! Just noting that my interes...

Re: The State of the Game - a serious discussion
In keeping with the spirit of the original post, this will be another looong read, dealing mostly with my own experience as a new player and possibly bringing little to the table. Bring a snack. Also I may be a contender for longest post on these forums ever, the tl;dr is available at the bottom. I'...

Re: Inpotionated ("quaffed up")
Not that I like ripping off other games, but The Witcher has a better alternative than giving potions a chance of failing. To rip straight from the wiki: "Toxicity... increases with each potion consumed. Excessive toxicity adversely affects [The character]'s abilities and may even lead to [thei...

Re: Abolishing Teacher/Scholar
Agreed, obviously, I seem to have misspoke in my second post so let me clarify.. Your skill in the skill you're teaching should affect how high you can train someone else in it-maybe a grandmaster can train up to adept, master to journeyman, expert-adept to apprentice, journeyman-apprentice to novic...

Re: Abolishing Teacher/Scholar
Hmm, there may be nothing for it, but what if the teacher, as well as the student, expended experience in order to train? All teachers could train to roughly the same skill level, but higher skill/stats reduced the experience cost for the teacher?

Whoah, whoah, whoah! Back off the tea-drinkers, dawg. Tea and coffee spawn heroes. It's a proven genetic enhancement. That's why asians had Ninjas and Samurai and the US got stuck with Cowboys. What about the most time-honored tea-drinkers, the Brits? They practically spawned the hero mythos with K...

Re: Greet and Names
A good system, intricate yet simple. We could alternatively simply have everyone able to "remember X whatever", with X being another player and whatever being whatever we'd like to remember them as. Greet might be modified to work similarly.

Re: Worth of Craft system and command lags
You mean: 1: Normal (non-Masterwork) armor of common materials (such as steel, iron, etc.). 2: Masterwork armor of common materials (such as steel, iron, etc.). 3: Masterwork armor of uncommon materials (adamantine, mithral, elven singing steel, cold iron). Am I right? If so, that's pretty acceptab...

Re: Worth of Craft system and command lags
I'd like to add my thoughts to this discussion, despite my relative inexperience, and lack of direct knowledge of the subject, what I'm hearing in this topic has given me enough of an understanding of the current situation that I feel like I can at least sound off on the suggestions provided. Firstl...

Gradak offers the heart to you. Keller looks about the caves. 'Odd that the girl wasn't with the other merchants.' He is surprised by the bloody gore that has been offered to him. Gradak looks you 'Warriors live in gore. It is a part of our nnature'. Keller cocks an eyebrow at Gradak. 'I'm.. not rea...

Re: War?
For argument's sake, it really oughtn't be difficult for the players to get involved at multiple levels of such conflict. A lowbie such as my character might use the war to really focus on what was important to him and where his loyalties might lie, protecting refugees as the escape the battlefield ...

I'd love to see something come of this, Lathander's teasing has got me all excited at the possibilities! Just throwing in my support, I'm too new to come up with any compelling suggestions.

Re: Who List
If this is changed so that players can hide themselves on the who list, I would suggest not removing their 'slot' from the who list. Have them listed as (unknown) An indiscernible presence Or something to that effect instead. Why? Because as some have stated, an empty who list is one of the most unp...
