Re: Player Status
Hi everyone, So you may have noticed that I've been gone for a little while (August of last year.) FK inspired me to get into the adventure bug in real life for a little while. I ended up sailing all around the Puget Sound on a small sailboat which was given to me. That inspired me to learn more abo...

Re: New killmode
I think this works if you would use the killmode in reverse like that - I do not like giving Wizards the ability to solo target area spells, otherwise it makes non-area spells irrelevant.

Re: New killmode
Spellcaster balance issues of D&D vs FK As a Wizard in D&D, you can choose to cast a spell or move away from aggressors. It's not just assumed that you're more than 5 feet away, it takes actions. If you want to move and cast you can't cast a full round spell. Here spellcasters have no such r...

Re: New killmode
I think allowing this to spellcasters would be overpowered. In D&D area spells are much less useful than they are in FK. In FK, if you're grouped, they manage to hit ALL of your enemies in a room, whereas in D&D they would only hit enemies in a sphere (how often are your enemies likely to be...

Re: Fighter builds
From what I can tell Dodge rarely fires and Riposte doesn't work anymore. Dodge is still definitely useful, but I'd say its effect is more over the course of a dungeon rather than over the course of a combat. There are other disadvantages to wearing full plate. Carry wt, skill check failures. In D&a...

Re: Fighter builds
I did the math on it once. Long story short, with a tower shield and the right feats a heavy armor fighter can land AC in the upper 30s. The best a light armor fighter is going to do, assuming rare +2 studded leather, is going to be in the low 20s. Since we tend not to have items greater than +2 on ...

Flying Limp
If you have a severed limb, you cannot move faster than speed limp, even if you are flying. I haven't tested this with a mount.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: [SPELL] Polymorph: Targetable + Change Only Adjective
I like making it possible to shift into your own race so you can disguise yourself as something different. As for casting on others, I think maybe this is time to break this into Alter Self (level 2 and essentially functions as current polymorph does within one size category of the caster), Polymorp...

Agreed, with how much we caught up last time if we just keep it up we'll be on top.

Items that need to remain in a shopkeeper's inventory (because they're permanently part of the shop) typically can't be stolen and create the "You can't pry it away." echo you mentioned

Re: Illusionary Pit vs Mass Hold Person
Mass hold monster affects "creatures" which is undefined by D&D, however most people interpret it as anything. Mass hold person is essentially being able to stop anything in an area in place with magic (provided it fails the save). Humanoids get hit by hold person, everything gets hit ...

Illusionary Pit vs Mass Hold Person
Recently I've been involved in a few situations where Illusionary Pit is being used in a way that seems to outright go against game balance, both in FK and in the actual 3.5 definitions of the spells. Both Illusionary Pit and Mass Hold Person should render the person immobile and are mind affecting ...

Re: Instant Death Spells and PVP
There are tons of policy line items we could add in here (also being a victim/witness to a couple of these recently) but I'm in favor of less policy, as I feel like too much of a checklist of stipulations bogs down the game, and even has served as justification for some of the poorly RP'd recent PKs...

Thank you again to everyone who organized this and attended! I enjoyed the tournament a great deal and liked seeing pieces of roleplays surfacing here and there.

Riposte and Bows
This one is a two-fer! One, a goblin riposte'd an attack against me when I was firing arrows at him in melee. Two, MOBs seem to be able to riposte when wielding any kind of weapons, not just thrusting blades. You shoot a sheaf arrow at a goblin sentry. Your pierce tears open a goblin sentry's right ...

Hi, I started playing FK around when I was 14 or 15. I'm 28 now. This is me on my birthday. Open it in a new tab to see Seattle in all its majesty https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/v/t35.0-12/10638874_10100303755079542_2069946379_o.jpg?oh=eef86f757f2955d349c7ab9aaaff041d&oe=...

Thanks so much to Arin for this!
I commissioned him after seeing his rad sketch of Arindiel, and gave him some source ideas and details to play with. I'm very happy with how it turned out.
Thanks man!

Ranger Evasion
Hi there, I was looking at the SRD today to figure out what sort of balance issues may or may not exist in the Ranger class. I know that we're moving toward eventually have the neutral Rangers Guild which will let people climb their respective combat mastery trees in some way. One thing I saw that I...

I'm available after 3PM PST and my weekends are very open. 12/27-28 and 1/3-1/4 are both good days, too - my guess is the weekend after New Years may have the least travel involved
