status and a request
HI all, First off, I haven't given up on Cilah or other characters, or the game. We had company on and off for a while, and now we've got another situation that's taken my attention, which brings me to the second part of this post. My roommate, who plays Arienne, has a Seeing Eye dog as do I. Her do...

Re: How well do you know one another?
Bumping this in case someone wanted to get in an entry. I'll be starting the second part of the game in a day or two.

Re: How well do you know one another?
This is all IC, yes. One character per player would be best to keep the game fair. It seems some people are stressing out about this. Keep in mind that it's meant to be fun and entertaining. Sure, there's a faith element to it but the whole idea is for characters to learn something about each other ...

How well do you know one another?
How well do you know your fellow adventurers? I thought we could play a fun little game to find out. This game will have two parts. First, I need everyone who wishes to participate to mail me two interesting facts about themselves, and one sentence about what the dawn means to them. The interesting ...

Re: Player Status
Hi all! I and my roommate will be out of town from the 26th, this coming sunday, until the following sunday. I, at least, will not be bothering to bring a laptop because the internet where we are going is shotty at best, and I don't often have a lot of time to mud anyway. IC, Kutri will be with her ...

Cell door in Lathander temple in Shadowdale
Not sure if this counts as a bug or suggestion, but several times now I have seen people who have wind walk on slipping through the cell door in the Shadowdale Lathander temple, only to find themselves stuck there. Should that door not be passproof both ways to prevent those kinds of traps? It is tr...

Re: Buggy exit, street of whispers going to Shark street
Tested this again. Kutri still cannot go through the exit. Cilah could not either until I put pass door on her via wind walk, then she got through just fine. It's like there's an invisible door with no keywords that shouldn't be there at all.

Buggy exit, street of whispers going to Shark street
Standing on Street of Whispers and I try to go west onto Shark street, I get the message 'The is closed.". I can look west and see the street, I just can't go that way. Open west says 'you can't do that' and no other keyword seems to work.

Re: Large Bush...seriously overpowered
I'm in agreement that the bushes should be toned down or at least made not to chase. In higher level areas it's fine to have surprise crazy death bringing things like that but for such a low level area it seems extreme. I mean, my level 38 dwarf fighter went in there to rescue someone and in full pl...

Gathering for the friends and faith of the Morninglord
You are invited to a day of companionship and good food on behalf of the temple of the Morninglord. All faithful, allies, and others holding no ill intent are welcome to gather at the flower garden at the Spires of the Morning here in Waterdeep. This is an informal gathering for conversation and ref...

Re: Mithral Hall Simple Fixes
Not sure what was already suggested, but here are mine. There's a typo with the workers. I can't remember how it's written exactly but shoveling is misspelled. The newbie area could really really use a coin increase to bring it in line with other newbie areas. Getting 1-5 copper per mob gets frustra...

Re: Gate issue
For clerics, it requires 19 wisdom. For wizards it requires 19 int. Basically any spell requires 10+(circle #) of the primary stat to be cast.

making a permanent fire disappear
So, I decided to take advantage of the fires in the halls of justice to do some cooking, but I discovered that none of the permanent fires could be used to roast beans. Therefore, I went into the common room and used produce flame to create a second fire which could roast the beans. When I finished,...

Re: Changes to the posted laws of Waterdeep
Actually the part I was referring to with Lathander was the striving to make societies better through racial harmony, among other things. Of course that could be open to interpretation as well, my own lathanderite takes it pretty widely but she draws the line at tieflings, being an aasimar and all. ...

Re: Changes to the posted laws of Waterdeep
Regardless of how it's done, I agree that the npcs and the posted laws really should line up one way or another. It's especially frustrating because how would pcs enforce laws when the npcs are just as likely to then arrest the pc? That said, I do want to say that racial tolerance isn't *always* try...

Re: Introduction And Beginner Tips
I almost forgot! The greet command. Every rp mud handles introductions differently. Greet, the command, is a way to tell the code that a player or group of players should know your name. So best practice would be to somehow give a player your name with rp, then use greet. You might also choose to gr...

Re: Introduction And Beginner Tips
Some things I've learned since playing in August, not necessarily in order of importance. If you're bored, just want to meet people, or need help with things, go to the market square in Waterdeep. Even if no one is there in the moment, hang out for a while and someone is likely to show up! Many char...

Re: Abyssal Jaunt
I would definitely love to bring Theia on this if given the chance. She's a level 50 wizard, mystran so allied with kelemvar's church, and never had a chance to do anything like that before. For that matter neither have I oocly. Time shouldn't be an issue, in fact it's perfect. I'll have pretty much...

Re: Stun mode, particularly in PvP
From looking at the logs, three of the mortal wounds came from area spells that do continue damage, however at least two of those it was the first hit of those spells that directly preceeded the message that the person was mortally wounded. Of the rest, two showed up as mortally wounded directly aft...
