Really, insofar orcs are concerned, I'm mostly surprised even mountain orcs get ECL. It's not in the SRD, and it's put me off playing one for the foreseeable future pretty firmly.

Update:

This only seems to apply when polymorphed and wearing clothes. Ape form is useful because it saves on stripping down, but an ape not wearing anything avoids blows like normal, somehow.
