Re: Improved Toughness
In 3.5e, Toughness could only be taken once- and Improved Toughness was the (duh) improvement feat. Of course, in 3.5e- extra health was not at all balanced versus the other things you could get for a feat (in that it was undervalue and practically worthless, even for masochistic tanks.) Because of ...

Most of my characters probably only differ in one facet from myself- being INFJ myself. Caethos -could- be an INTJ. The rest are INFJ / ENFJ

Re: DnD Adventures
Is 5e any good? I though 4e was horrible and decided that all editions beyond 4th was unholy land. I mostly DM a 3.5e homebrew set in the FR universe. In responce to Maetha: Do you ever get that problem where the players are just not doing the whole "gonna be a hero thing?" In one of my s...

Re: DnD Adventures
My first time DMing was with 4th, for Svenrick and a "friend" of our's. I'd tried a few times before that but online games (rarely) -n-ever work out. I've DM'd Pathfinder, 4th, 3.5e, Shadowrun, World of Darkness, and some other games before. My longest running game was a Disgaea-flavored S...

Re: Charm spells and their use
Don't you have to take part in a battle to obtain XP from it? I mean, realistically if you're farming for gold- I doubt minions are the best way to go about it with spells like Storm of Vengeance, Chain Lightning, et all. As long as you are in the same zone you will get XP from group kills I think,...

Re: Charm spells and their use
Yeah, the helpfile footnotes really aren't dire warnings. They are just there to let you know that the use of the spell is logged and the staff will know if you abuse it. Farming means you are using the minions for combat, while your PC remains outside of the encounter. As long as your PC participa...

Re: Favourite character class and why
Usually the balance of those kinds of classes are the other way around, E.g. Arcane trickster, A lot of rogue and only a little wizard. It'd be nice to play a game where the reverse is true though yes. I'm surprised no one's mentioned Wizard cleric mix like Mystic theurge or some such so far. Or ar...

Re: Event Rescheduling
After 3 or so years of suffering the flake-ness or honest sanguine nature of people saying they'll come to table top sessions and then not. I've kind of grown what could be described as synical with time management. If I can't make something I usually don't hurt to make it. The godzilla example is ...

An archetypal part of the class- it's ranged attacking abilities- are missing. Yes, you can play a dual wielding Drizzt ranger- but... man, I want to play not-Legolas shooting more arrows than the end of 300.Ungtar wrote: The bow though ... meh ... it doesn't shine.

Re: Crafting and enchantment
Just a quick for those who don't play the tabletop. Downtime is when the dungeon master declares the end of an adventure and allocates a number of weeks or months between adventures where the characters can do whatever they want. Most just declare I want to craft this this and this, make a few roll...

Re: [New Race]Kobolds
So, after reading through this and one other suggestion for additional races I thought I might add some ideas to chew on. In Forgotten Realms, on which FK is based, Elves are on their way out the door. They're almost literally shipping out of Faerun for a better place just for elvenkind. Orcs are b...

Re: Favorite Books
I looked into that, but the honest killer for me is that you have to register as an LLC unless you actively "own" a business for writing books so you can be taxed appropriately. And I have no clue at all the safety or work to deal with all of that jazz. I'm pretty sure you could just regi...
