Persistent Spell

Why has the spell level adjustment for persistent spell been changed? It already had only a handful of uses at +4, but at +6 it may as well not even exist.

Re: Fuzzy Values

I will add that visible numbers will allow people to know precisely what most magical items do, simply by wearing them and comparing their stats afterwards - whereas at the moment it's highly possible that you wouldn't even notice due to the stat descriptors not changing. It would also allow everyo...

Re: Fuzzy Values

I'd advocate for a system that shows numbers and text at the same time. I prefer text myself, but I don't have an issue seeing the numbers as long as I can visualize with text how I should rp my strength. I think someone suggested a config option for this in the past, and I think it's an excellent ...

Fuzzy Values

Many of the values we see when playing the game are reduced to 'fuzzy values'. Examples of this include: Statistics Defense Resistances and reductions Saving throws Experience Hitroll Damroll Hitpoints Stamina Skill and spell levels Spell durations Deity favor level And maybe more that I could not c...

Re: Economies

Simply put, it feels to me as though every good source of gold for high level characters that involves simple killing of mobs has been systematically nerfed to the ground. If anyone feels as though the staff doesn't want them to earn coin, this is likely why. I could write you a list of instances wh...

Economies

I am curious to see what the general opinion is regarding the economy system
(that being that the vendors in each city draw their money from a shared pool
of limited size when it comes to buying and selling items to/from them).

Any thoughts?

Re: A possibility: global reset

Firstly, I reserve my judgement about this idea for the time being. Secondly, whether there is a stat reset or not, and regardless of how it is carried out, I feel like it's pertinent that players should know what their stats are (numerically) to begin with. I think stats should appear as numbers an...

[SKILL] Rescue

The functionality of rescue has for some time been a bit of a pet peeve of mine with regards to the combat code. In its current implementation, it does work fine. However, I have this to say: when rescue is being used, it is most usually because the target needs to be rescued right now . What is ann...

That was sort of my question -- this aspect of the combat code feels very antiquated to me and I wasn't sure if it was even still implemented. The only reason I really asked was that I was pretty sure that some of the modifiers had changed.

Skill Modifiers

So, with all the changes being made to the combat system lately, I figured it might be a good time to get one of my oldest questions answered. When one looks at their skills or weapons, one sees something like dual wield (Dex,Lck) expert Now, it is my understanding that based on this, one can assume...

Speaking from the perspective of someone who has taken great cleave on a fighter, I can say that at high level, it feels like I wasted a feat point. I could have the same effect with just cleave. I'd be welcome to making any changes that would make this more of a viable thing at high level.

It's laughably easy to not be stolen from, I will never understand the problem here -- however, I do seem to recall that it's not legal to steal a bag from someone's inventory, because logically, how do you grab a bag from someone's hands without their knowledge?

I've played this game for (I'm pretty sure) over 5 years, and never been stolen from, as far as I know. However, I also keep anything valuable stashed in my backpack, worn, or on a stabled mount. I think that thieves, and the steal command, belong in the game (Maybe I'm biased from playing a kleptom...

I hate to plug World of Warcraft here, but they have an experience system of which I'm a fan: time spent not levelling (actually, specifically in an inn, or major city), whether while logged off or logged on, increases a character's "rested experience". What this means is that, if you, say...

I do support roleplay ratings. I would strongly prefer anonymous and private ratings, for the same reasons as the others.
