Re: Fewer PvP Rules if Not on Killmode Kill?
TL;DR: I voted to loosen the rules. For my reasoning, see below. Personally, I think that PvP should be open season with very few constraints--namely, the protection of new players and the prevention of harassment, and this is how I voted. If you're a seasoned FK veteran, you should know your respon...

I'm in the middle of a move, both residence and career. I'll be even more scarce for a bit.

Re: Sonnlinor Rogni Raudskegr's Challenge of Dame Elisabeth Marshall
BEFORE: You get some salt from a squat, stylized mithral lockbox on a thin leather belt. Rogni holds his hand up to his eyes and surveys the lay of the land for a long moment in moonlight. He kneels, and touches the ground with one hand, and says, 'This is th'land.'. Your pulse returns to normal. R...

Hammers' Homecoming: A Call to Mithral Halls
TO ALL WAY-FARING DWARVES, BE YE BORN OF THE HALLS OR ABROAD: The clergy of the Soul Forger has seen it fit to bring home our ranging brothers and sisters to assess and increase our community's strength. As such, any dwarf who has access to the Halls--or is pledged to a God that is right and just--...

Proposed Changes to Rangers
Here are collected my proposals for ranger changes that would allow them access to a competitive, fighter/paladin-equivalent build with highly specific ranger flavor. There are likely flaws in this, and the body itself is far older than this preamble, so if LITERALLY ANYONE wants to critique it, fee...

Re: PvP Questions?
I think the OOC statement should stay in effect. However, it shouldn't require someone to reply. Obviously there would be varying situations, but I think it should serve as a warning of, "You're putting yourself in danger. You have a few minutes before I attack. Extricate yourself from the sit...

Re: General Questions
I can recall a fight with Harroghty in which Cahir had a surprisingly low amount of 5th attacks for GM, and investigated it afterwards. This led me to believe there may be a correlation between missing 4th and 5th failing to fire, but I never could find enemies that Cahir missed often + survived lon...

Re: Investment
My longest investment in a character is now Cahir, surpassing even this forum handle's namesake. The bulk of his time (probably 1500+ hours of his 2500) was spent during two years, a few years back now. During that time, Cahir progressed mechanically at a pretty average pace with a regular companion...

Re: General Questions
I've seen PC items made of mithril, silver, and adamantine--leaving the 4th special material up for grabs. Is cold iron a product that PCs can actually make? The RMI table only ever seems to drop longswords, but this material does have practical applications in game.

Re: Pet Peeve - Idle Players
Man, what a read! I'm wondering what this adds to the already very clear message that Mele has sent and why you felt the need to personally elaborate on it from the capacity of a PC Member. So far as I know, we are not enforcers or adjudicators in any capacity, but if I'm missing something here, I'd...

Court of Law Kickback
The interaction with the guards of the Court of Law end up kicking characters "removed" deeper into the temple, resulting in a potentially fatal loop.

Re: Two weapon fighting and the bard class
Okay, I'll repost it for bards specifically: 18 14 18 10 10 18 / WF:Polearms / Power Attack / Still / Heighten/ Extend / 3 choice. 2d4+6STR+3HSTR+6PA+2Weap+2Spell = 24 average damage x3 for 72 DPR (x4 in crit rounds, for 288). This build allows for casting in combat without still; it is provided in ...

Re: Two weapon fighting and the bard class
I decided to redact myself--don't worry, it wasn't anything mean, I just don't feel comfortable posting in-depth guides to character creation on the forums. Regardless, the math does not support the claim that dual wield bards or paladins are superior to their 2H counterparts or dual wield fighters ...

Re: Two weapon fighting and the bard class
I argue exactly the opposite. We should approve this, as it exists in d20srd where ANYONE can dual wield, and let people find out how trash it would be for themselves--and paladins too, even, because being so MAD you can't afford 19 DEX definitely isn't a real thing. LOL

The new grates/gates/meshes in the WD sewers seem to conform to this. They can be bashed or c 'knock' open, but cannot be picked.

Unpickable Doors -- Feature or Oversight?
Hi there. During my recent adventures on a thief, I have come across several doors that are not pickable. This isn't the typical failure result repeated; after one or two attempts, it seems a successful attempt instead results in "This door is not pickable." I know in the past builders som...

Re: More In Character
Just wanted to point out that a common alternative to flooding the game with OOC messages but still being able to communicate with the community exists. The FK Discord is very helpful and populated, and it gives you access both to our chat and PMs. The moderating staff (which, admittedly, I'm part o...
