I have always envisioned that spectral hand on the Mud would work something like this: Creates a hand shaped shield that a person sees when using look at (like shield creates a shimmering disc). While in effect: - Hand has a chance of blocking mele attacks (like a shield). Can block X mele attacks i...

I don't see any problems with it personally. Its not adamantium thats hated but the drow. Adamantium is just a metal, like mithril. While there is associations, a smart merchant still knows the value of special items. While it is concievable that not all merchants would buy it, I think selling such ...

What I meant was that in my example area there was 1 mob selling mounts/pets and 8 mobs that were normal shopkeepers, therefore 2 spare rooms in total were needed to be left aside 1 for the mount/pet seller and 1 for the 8 shopkeepers. These 2 spare rooms counted towards the total number of rooms I ...

Don't worry about VNUMs then. If you have 50 rooms for your area then you you must leave a room free for shops (if you have any) and a room free for each sperate mount seller or pet seller. For eg. My temple has a stablemaster selling mounts and 8 shopkeepers so I have in total, 2 spare rooms that c...

Usually the builder decides where they want to place the entrance to the area (wether it be in the wilderness or a city) and gets that approved, unless of course your building an area that is specifically meant for a certain location. You can have a pet shop and a mount shop in the same room as far ...
Would it be acceptable to Rp a 'assasin' like character. But in the characters RP they only kill mobs and not PC's? I could see a weak evil hiring a assasin to take care of that pesky merchant that wouldn't sell to them... I believe such RP is acceptable Telk. Many have turned to the Lord o...

As others have stated, the stat system is fine how it is. What sets your charecters apart really is your skills and what you choose to develop and learn. Instead of a big thick tome increasing a stat what about the if the tome is a big relegious text on a specific faith. Reading it might increase yo...

Usually a priest will be alot more focused on their faith than a normal faithful (hence why they are priests), so I am going to assume that at this stage your priests has it narrowed down to 2-3 Gods at most, all of which are probably overlapping or very similar, but there is some RP reason holding ...

I remember a spell once that you could cast at a persons weapon. It would make the weapon glow red hurt causing the person to drop it or take damage (usually the first as its a natural reaction). It was a low level spell and had to get past the weapons resistances. I found that as a mage I tended to...

Door resets and trap code
I was looking to apply a trap to a door. The builders lessons state that I should put the trap reset under the reset of whatever it is that needs trapping, which would indicate I need to put a door reset in. I have read the builders lessons on door reset a couple of times, and unless I am blind (whi...

Mezbarris - I love the idea of some type of signifier for the noble sons and daughters. Their rivalry, especially in trying to gain the place above them would make great RP opportunities, though I think giving out a first boy/girl ring could be like giving out a death sentence to some players  ...

Hi all -
I am after a list of $ targets I can use in a programs.
Specifically though I have a weapon that when it gets damaged, it "lashes out" at the MOB the player is fighting. Problem is I don't know what $<letter> to use to target it.
You help is appreciated

The simple answer is both yes and no. All drow are opportunists by nature, and treachery, when successfully done inside their loose guidelines, is silently applauded. When drow meet in such a manner that is confrontational, both drow will be automatically assessing the social rank of that person ver...
