7:30EDT is perfect, as far as I'm concerned! Plenty of time to put wife and baby to bed, then sneak off to the pub for a natter and a cheese board.
I'd prefer a Friday or Saturday evening, but I'm honestly easy with any other day.

Who? Me? No, you must be confusing me with someone else. If you see me around this week, you're almost certainly imagining things.

Honestly, I can't believe you were gone for so long!
On the back of that, I'm also returning after an incredibly short hiatus. I hope to see some of your lovely faces around soon.

Re: Important Area or Hard code Upgrades
In response to popular request, a recent copyover has brought in the following changes: Evil characters now have 0 kismet requirement. Half orcs may now start in Westgate, Zhentil Keep, Orc Camp and Waterdeep (as well as Skullport, as was previously available). [/color] Both of these have been broug...

'Sense'
A curious phenomenon I've been seeing more and more of recently is people using the term 'sense' to indicate whether or not people are online (eg. "We need a strong warrior, but I cannot sense Sir Boris!"). Please remember that our characters don't have special abilities to sense what peop...

Re: Belt Item Layers
I'm sorry, I can't work out what you're asking for either - I think there must be a mix-up somewhere. After recent code updates you're able to wear any three belt items regardless of layer in any order you choose - not just scabbards. If that's what you're after, then your wish may already have been...

Re: LOOK Order of Execution and Word Shortening
Or perhaps if abbreviations could be prioritised lower than full words (So 'look sign' would look at the sign first, then the signet ring - but 'look sig' would just look at them in whatever order they come). I don't even know if that would be possible without being mega-clunky, but you raise a bloo...

Re: Half-orcs 3.5
I'm not sure a higher kismet cost is strictly necessary - but I'm in favour of adding half orcs to Westgate, Zhentil Keep and Waterdeep with common as a starting language. Would they happily exist in the orc camp though? I'm not really clued up enough about orcs to know what they'll make of half-hum...

Re: Start on higher level for kismet
That sounds good to me, for sure! Much better than a levels-for-kismet system, in my opinion. The entire newbie experience is up for review at the minute - not just the Font of Knowledge, but the Path of Life as well now - and knowing what sorts of tips and lessons to provide new players in the proc...

Re: Start on higher level for kismet
It still strikes me as a rather round-about means to an end - and I'm not really sure we're addressing it properly. If there are problems with the system, I'd much rather see them solved generally than allow older players to throw kismet at them until they go away. To be a little more specific then:...

Re: Start on higher level for kismet
I'm not sure how I feel about this idea. In many ways I rather like the idea of optional starting 'perks' - things like starting with a choice of a few ranks of meditation, swim or mount/handle animal etc - but a character's level strikes me as sacred ground. What was your motivation with this sugge...

Re: Maraedo the Furrier 'uninterested in some fur'
There are certain NPCs around the world who may accept spell reagents in exchange for payment - but you won't currently find any vendors who'll buy them with the 'sell' command. As Mele says, player character priests/wizards are probably the best people to sell to. Given how easy some spell reagents...

You're given an option to skip the tutorial already. It may not be present for the first character, as you say, but it's definitely there for subsequent ones.

Remember that areas are being built and added all the time, but that cities are a huge amount of work. A lot of areas have placeholders and bits on the map where they clearly should be - because as far as your character's concerned, the cities ARE there - but you can't enter them simply because it h...

I can't seem to find the original thread now, but a groggy memory stirs of this very topic having been raised some time ago (I'm not rebuking you for not searching the forum before asking. As I say, I can't even find it now!). Honestly - it's a great idea. I think the original notion was to add a 'b...

Re: Allow CN drow?
While I understand what you mean about chaotic neutral drow in a canon sense - you may as well also wonder why we don't allow lawful and true neutral characters as well. Chaotic neutrality isn't a free license to be almost-evil-but-not-quite! In terms of morality, they're far more closely related to...

Re: Proficiency feats in Fighters Guild
For clarity's sake, trainers who can train a weapon skill will automatically be assigned weapon proficiency and focus feats if the level to which they can train that skill is sufficient. It's not an intentional slap in the face to warriors - just a by-product of this system! On topic though, I agree...
