well done to Michael Phelps tonight after claiming gold in the 4x200 freestyle relay he is now the greatest athlete ever to compete.

What does everyone think of London 2012 so far?

I'm watching it even as I play but I have to agree, I've always been more for the winter Olympics. Just a personal preference. Maybe because I'm Canadian. XD
All the athletes seem to be giving it their all. I just watched Canada's fem sync-divers win bronze while China and Mexico earned gold and silver respectively. They're all working hard and Tymora's eyes are definately watching the competitors.

The Great White North is definately real. Our land stretches from the borders of Silverymoon to the Sea of Shining Ice.

Michael Jung has given quite the impression along with the german Eventing-Team. Good for the dressage-equipe, that M. Rath and Totilas stay at home ;)

And I have to say that I found the historical part of the opening ceremony quite very well done and inventive.

I have to admit that I've never cared to watch the Olympics before this year. I've never been big into sports, but since my husband has been watching it, I've slowly been finding myself drawn to it ("it" being Olympics and sports alike). I've especially enjoyed watching the gymnastics and swimming events, and found the story of US Olympic Gymnast Gabby Douglas that Yahoo ran rather inspiring.

I get mildly obsessed with it and find myself watching anything that happens to be on for hours on end. Like weightlifting. This also applies to Winter'lympics too.

And what do y'all think about the Badminton teams throwing the matches?

Yeah, no.

You enter any competition with the sole purpose of trying to win. That the tournament structure would allow a winning strategy to be lacking in sportsmanship is wholly a failing of the Olympics committee, which is the foremost entity accountable to their own moral ideology.

I can. Remember this is nothing like other football competitions, there are rules about how many players you can have over a certain age. In the men's competition you can only have 3 squad players over the age of 23, so it's a lot more like a youth competition.
