Darkvision Disappearing

Darkvision Disappearing

Today my gold dwarf walked from Daggerford to Waterdeep, and had darkvision on the way to the city. Yet later, when he left Waterdeep the darkvision was gone completely, and I was recieving the "it is pitch black" message instead of getting room descriptions in monochrome.

In between the character did get killed, fell into a portable hole, and there was a brief server disconnect, felt by another player also. I'm not sure if any of these have anything to do with this loss of darkvision but I thought them worth mentioning.

Relogging did not fix the problem, the character still does not have darkvision.

It is not just one or two rooms being an issue, I checked the same route I followed between Daggerford and Waterdeep, darkvision does not work their either.

I just checked a fresh Gold Dwarf on the testport, and it seems to have darkvision as it should.

Is it still missing from your specimen? There was a time window when the race files were getting a lot of work and the problem may have been a temporary one tied to that. I'm sorry for the long delay in following up on this, this came in while I was swamped at work and I'm just starting to catch up now!

Any other PCs out there that think they should have darkvision, but don't?

The next day the darkvision was back for my dwarf. But for a few hours it was gone, which is just strange!

Does Darkvision as a racial trait show up in your affects?

If not, my Wemic seems to have lost his:

Yes, it shows in affects and under benedictions in VT100 if you are in a dark room with no light.

When you're in darkness and using it, it'll show on the vt affects list, but not by the command, for all of mine that have it.

Hm, my gauntlets glow. Will that stop darkvision from showing up?

When I remove them:
<74%hp 0m 51%mv> rem gloves
You stop using bright, rune-inscribed gloves.
As you remove the bright gloves, you suddenly feel very exhausted.

It is pitch black ...

It will not show up on affects if you have a glowing item worn, but it will still function with one.

Update1: Regardless of wearing glowing item or not, I am unable to see in a room that is dark or look into the directional.
Update2: Moving rooms did not affect.

I still don't see Darkvision listed anywhere in VT100.

Easy enough, the wemic race file isn't set up properly for darkvision.

But, I think it used to be if I'm not mistaken. Unfortunately my logs aren't in color.

Wemics did receive darkvision at one point, but it was accidentally removed during a revision on april 26th, 2011.

This should now be fixed, or at least the fix is in the copyover queue.
