Re: Like button
You and me both. I feel it's a cheap addition to my posts when I just say, "I like this!"
For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I die, you are forgiven. If I live, I will kill you."
Such is the rule of honor.

Re: Like button
I'd welcome a like button as a bit of harmless fun for everyone.
Justice is not neccesarily honourable, it is a tolerable business, in essence you tolerate honour until it impedes justice, then you do what is right.

i'd be in favour of a thumbs up/down button
quick and easy to get some measure as to the popularity of suggestions and the like, a sort of KPI.

Re: Like button
If we put a dislike button I'd like it to be completely anonymous. I don't want imms/staff/fellow players to know who we are when we dislike something, just that someone posted a dislike. Keeps it from getting personal. Also, make it so we can only like or dislike something once.

...am I going crazy? I swear we had one of these when I left for boot.
Re: Like button
I don't think we need anything to enable negativity. :) (As a dislike button is.)
Beshaba potatoes.
Re: Like button
I was trying to think of a constructive way to say this.Mele wrote:I don't think we need anything to enable negativity. (As a dislike button is.)
I've noticed from social media, and life in general, that posts (and other things) tend to follow 'trends'. If someone clicks dislike, other people may thoughtlessly do so. It's not constructive. Clicking a like, +1 or thumbs up, would be, as others have said, less.. distracting, perhaps? Than adding 'I like this' to a post.
Dislike, however, would remove the constructive criticism of a post or sentiment. What exactly is it that you dislike about something? That /is/ important. But just to 'dislike' would only create a feeling of negativity and discouragement to the poster.
Re: Like button
I have to agree with Tarven and Mele. While we may not agree on all the things said, to add a dislike buttom may discourage people from offering interesting or constructive ideas to the game. The like button would be great though.
