Not sure if it's intended this way, as I'm not sure how most things work mechanically behind the mud, but I was wondering...
Before, if you cast something you used to be able to STOP casting if you'd cast the wrong thing. Now it seems that while you prepare, you can't stop preparing, and you end up casting so quickly that you can't stop that either. Is there any way to make stop work during the preparation? It's a minor inconvenience, nothing severe by far.
I also noticed if you're fighting say 3 mobs, and you cast something right before the first mob you initiate is dying, if it dies before you cast off that spell, you won't cast that spell at all, even if the target wasn't the one who died. So in a group setting, you and two others are fighting three beasties. You type "c 'cure critical' companion" and if the beastie you're fighting dies, your poor companion won't get the healing they need.
But ability to stop a spell during preparation (prior to casting, in instances of fighting), and spell continuation after mob death would be nice.
Not too sure if either are bugs, but they were once possible and now are not, and may have been something overlooked or whatnot. I couldn't find anywhere that touched on the subject or close to it in prior posts.
Spellcasting during combat.
Spellcasting during combat.
For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I die, you are forgiven. If I live, I will kill you."

Re: Spellcasting during combat.
I've seen both on gameport, and confirmed just now on the testport.
The first I don't think is a bug exactly, I'm pretty sure the stop command is just only coded to work during the casting phase and not the preparing phase, as it still works outside of combat while you're 'casting' a spell. It's not usually a big deal for me, though I can imagine situations where it might be. Does anyone else think this should be changed?
The second one does strike me as buggy. If an enemy dies during combat, even if you didn't strike the death blow, you don't attempt to cast your spell. As an example, I was attempting this against some orcs and tried to cast the shield spell on myself when one of them was near death. There was the 'You prepare to cast shield...', line, then the orc died and combat with the other continued. Nothing further about me casting my spell or anything like that. No problems if someone dies on your side.
