Problem joining the transmuter guild

After hitting level 10 and graduating from the school of wonder, I made the trip to Silverymoon to join the transmuters. I found the recruiter easily enough, and the conversation went like this:

The transmuter guild recruiter stands here.
The recruiter says to you 'Would you be interested in joining'
The recruiter asks you 'the Guild of Transmuters?'
You say 'yes'
The recruiter says to you 'We focus on spells that change or'
The recruiter says to you 'alter some aspects of things and people.'
The recruiter says to you 'Let me know if you want to JOIN.'
You say 'join'
The recruiter says to you 'Go and see Miresk in his office.'
The recruiter says to you 'He will tell you what you have to'
The recruiter says to you 'to do in order to join this guild.'

I found Miresk in his quarters, and I could not get him to respond to my attempts to join the guild. Figuring he was supposed to be 'asleep', I waited for him to enter his study then tried every possible variation of "I want to join this guild", "Miresk, I was told to see you, can you tell me what I have to do in order to join this guild?", "I want to join the transmuters", etc., that I could think of. Nothing worked.

Miresk doesn't seem to want to respond to any of it. The NPC doesn't say a word at all. Am I missing something, or is this a bug?

There was a bug. It's fixed, but pending an update on the game port.

Miresk the Thaumaturgist still has issues with the quest to join the transmuters guild.

After finishing the lessons, there's one additional task, according to the good headmaster.

I had not updated this file on the game port yet. It is updated now and so you should be able to complete all of the quests without any problem.

I completed the rest of the quest without issue, and joined the guild. Thanks for the quick fixes!
