Slice/skinning

Post by Calico » Thu Nov 29, 2012 7:56 pm

I've been around awhile and been thinking about slice the skinning skill. It makes sense for rangers to have it, but and this is a big but why only rangers? There are skinners galore that aren't rangers. Even though most rangers epitomize the woodsman. It would make sense for others to get it. I kinda think it should be a trade skill that one could learn(through a quest) that explained the do's and don'ts of it. Just like leatherworking can be learned by I think a majority of others. Which it should be since there leather crafters in most major cities and small villages that work things themselves by trading for leather from the skinners and trappers. I was just voicing my opinion on this and to see what yall thought.

Personally I think that a lot of tradeskills need to be opened up, made accessible, and have a point (masterwork items being able to be enchanted). Skinning would be on that list.

agreed and agreed! Maybe make the enchantments part of wizardly skillset trades and it requires the permanent spell afterwords?

Maybe do what dwarven smiths can do to. The can forge one weapon of power after which they lose alot of there flare for making masterful weapons and armor. Kinda like how it was explained when Bruenor made Aegis fang or whats it called.

I'd chime in that I agree that masterwork crafters could have the option for enchanting things they make like hides and skin armour. I like the idea of using Icewindale references, an enchanted scroll, runes and special materials to accomplish it.
Justice is not neccesarily honourable, it is a tolerable business, in essence you tolerate honour until it impedes justice, then you do what is right.

Spelling is not necessarily correct :)
