This feat may be taken multiple times. Each time it is taken you gain an extra language towards your max language.
Simple, any questions or anything I didnt make clear, please ask. Comments?

People in FK a multilingual. Celestial and Abyssal and Infernal for summoners. Animal for Druids. Elven because its...elven. Race languages for races or just in people's RP. Draconic because its like latin was for scientists as draconic is for wizards. If by any chance they want to learn an extra language and they have already learned their max, they can take this feat and be able to learn another. I think it would be a fair trade, a feat point for a language.

My view on how it applies to roleplay: Everyone who plays the mud, is their own hero. Meaning they have risen above the normal people, (NPCs) and have become exceptionally, or are becoming exceptionally good in combat, magics etc. etc. And what do heros do? They go on journeys, coming across many different races and people, many of which speak a language besides common. So being an expert linguist would greatly enhance your success in travelling safely. Just my thoughts on it.

Why be a Linguist?
I got to playing around with my Core Rules 2.0 on cd earlier and found that a halfling could be a multiclass Thief/Psionicist. So I made one... he is just TOO cool. Shame I can't play him here.. probably wouldn't even get to on Table Top.. anyways... I would love a language feat you could stack... I'd spend em all on languages... Be a translator or diplomat... I can just see my lil halfling now... Checking out all those supposedly secretly hidden documents... Gods I wish I could play him....Oh.. not to mention a Herald.. probaly not as exciting as Diplomat... Would probably need power attack and cleave for those times when talking just won't work....

You might as well make it so that taking this feat removes the cap once and for all. A devoted linguist who spends most of his time learning languages will know more languages than the most clever archmage anyway. It's more a matter of practice (aka skill points / experience & gold in the mud) than intelligence, and chosing this feat over another feat would mean that the character decides to devote some of his/her time learning languages.
New feat - Linguist
Sorry its been a while to answer your post, Dalvyn. I never saw it.
The reason why I dont think they should remove the cap completely is, everyone would be taking this feat, and then everyone would know all the languages, and that I think it would defeat the whole purpose of having the cap in the first place.
A devoted linguist would know more languages than an archmage, but linguists are ussually pretty smart, and thats kinda why I said you could take the feat multiple times. It would be nice to remove the cap, but I just thought what I proposed would be taken better.
But anyways, its really the imms decision I guess, not mine.
Just my views, and the fact that I beleive there is either a skill, or a feat in 3rd edition that works much like this.
