Comprehend Languages

The help file says:

You can understand the spoken words of creatures or read otherwise
incomprehensible written messages. The spell enables you to understand
or read an unknown language, not speak or write it.

but having cast it, a non common speaker that could not previously understand my character was suddenly able to.

Er, I can't reproduce this. I see the expected behavior, per the helpfile: namely, the target of Comprehend Languages can comprehend every language but, grouped or ungrouped with the caster, other PCs will not understand the speech of the caster of Comprehend Languages.

Has anyone else seen this happen, or are there any other specifics that might be relevant here?

A long while ago, Bolat was able to use this prayer to communicate with elves in Shilmista.
He did get the message "I can't understand you." but was still able to get the train list from them.

I didn't think anything of it since I've never used that spell/prayer and don't have any characters that can.

I haven't seen it with comprehend languages, but the tongues spell will occasionally translate for the whole group when cast upon one member.

Thanks for the suggestion! But if that was an issue at one point, it is fixed now on the testport.

I've seen this pop up in a new area, recently (about 2 weeks ago?). It seemed like giving answers in common/ALL made the quest giver switch to common/ALL.
