Naming pets with Animal Empathy?

Post by Amalia » Fri Jun 21, 2013 5:19 pm

Hey folks,

I've been through the help files, but can't find an answer. Is there a way to name a pet obtained through Animal Empathy, either while claiming it or thereafter? I can't seem to find one - though a poor coo'shee is no doubt feeling very emotionally conflicted as a result of my efforts!

There was a discussion about it but I don't believe anything came of it. If there is, it would be "claim animal name", e.g. "claim wolf Fang".

This does not work (tested). Seems like a reasonable suggestion, but more generally, what about the ability to rename your minions?

I was actually referring to this topic (viewtopic.php?f=77&t=13473&hilit=claim&start=20) where that was listed as the eventual syntax for when the skill is revised. I don't know the status of revisions on that.

I'd love to be able to rename pets. I received a bunny from a quest and have wanted to name it Angel. Only option to me presently would be to app it and I have no glory to spare for that.

Can't you name animals by selling them to a pet shop mobile then repurchasing them with the current name command? I have not tried this myself.
Justice is not neccesarily honourable, it is a tolerable business, in essence you tolerate honour until it impedes justice, then you do what is right.

Spelling is not necessarily correct :)

You know, that might work... Won't work for quest pets since they're in a different slot than normal pets(they don't add towards your max two, but if you sold then re-purchased one it would. Guess it's a trade-off for naming it).

Sounds like a reasonable prospect! It might require taking ICly inappropriate pets into cities to find the pet seller, but if we're willing to gloss over that in lieu of having to make coding changes, I'm all for it.
