Help file for 'protection' and 'magic circle'

Both of these spells are listed as 'Abjuration [Good]', but I don't think that's right. As far as I can tell, they're combined versions of the SRD spells 'protection from good' / 'protection from evil' and 'magic circle against good' / 'magic circle against evil', depending on the caster's alignment.

I'd like to update the help files to say:

Abjuration [Good] (for good-aligned casters)
Abjuration [Evil] (for evil-aligned casters)

But before I do that, I just want to check I've got this right.

Relatedly: what do these spells do when used by a neutral caster?

As far as I know it is not only protection against morals, but ethos as well. Not sure it should be considered Good aligned though, not unless the SRD wills it to be so.

I assume if a true neutral character were to use it, it would protect them against attacks by anyone who isn't also true neutral. Otherwise it would be useless for any character with a moral standing of neutral.

Sorry for the double post, but I checked the SRD and you're right. It shouldn't be simply 'protection'. It should be divided between Protection from Good[Evil] and Protection from Evil[Good]. I guess in the case of Forgotten Kingdoms, evils who cast it get protection from good and goods who cast it get protection from evil.

I would also like to know what neutrals get though...

Looks like neutrals get nada, so the helpfile needs a tweak in that respect as well. That is, just being of a different alignment than the caster isn't enough. Also, it looks like it only works on the good/evil axis. So if you are evil you get a +1 AC bonus against good, and vice-versa, and that's it. It's not useful against neutrals, but also not useful to them.

Okay, I've updated the help file to be a bit more accurate.

I listed the anti-charm effect as happening regardless of alignment, because this is what SRD says; it was also implied by the wording of the old help file for protection.
