Question about crafting

Post by Elrendil » Tue Jul 02, 2013 8:01 pm

I'm new to Forgotten Kingdoms, having just started a few days back. I've read the help files on trades, and tried to do some research on the forums on the subject. My question is, if it can be answered without getting into IC specifics, what kind of availability is there for characters to learn trades? For instance, if I wanted to try and recreate an old tabletop character of mine, and wanted him as an elf cleric (or possibly paladin) who could craft weapons and armor, is that possible? Or would being an elf or a cleric makes it so he's unable to access certain quests or whatever needed to learn one or both of those crafts?

Pretty sure that all trades except armorsmithing are available in one way or another; you'll have to seek out masters of the crafts (PCs, usually) or search dangerous locales, but it can happen with hard work and dedication.

I appreciate the reply. While I do wish armorsmithing would be available to him as well, we can't always get everything lol. It's good to know that the other trades can be taken if a teacher is found.

And thats not to say that armoursmithing isn't available to him. I've an elven cleric that has it. It is possible

Even better to hear! Thank you both. I just wanted to have an idea if it was at all possible before getting my heart all set on it and founding out later it can't happen lol. I don't mind some hard work and adventure trying to find a teacher. :)
