Precision Forge

Post by Mohana » Sat Sep 14, 2013 6:46 am

I am unsure if anyone else is having issues with the precision forge in Waterdeeep. I had the issue a couple weeks ago and again today where there is no echo and the forge doesn't get hot at all. .

Code: Select all

There is no room to drop anything.
You drop a tiny tin bell.

You do not have that item.
You are carrying:
( 3) some charcoal (perfect)
( 3) a small tin ball (perfect)
You place a ball of tin in the crucible.

You add a piece of charcoal in the oven.

You set the charcoal in the oven on fire.
Flames begin to dance and lick the underside of the crucible.
...
You examine the precision forge with attention ...
...The crucible contains the equivalent of 3 balls of tin.
...The metal is solid.
...A fire burns brightly in the oven under the crucible.
...The graduated tube next to the oven indicates 0/12.

I sat there for a good fifteen minutes and watched the forge with no change. I have yet to try the other precision forge that I know of.

Did you try resetting the forge buy pulling the lever? I had the same thing happen to me a while back and a reset seemed to fix it.

I tried resetting it. I tried logging out and back in and I tried a different metal.

Is this still an issue for anyone? I was not able to reproduce this.

Thanks for looking into this, it appears it may be tempermental at times. I have not had a issue in a while, must have been the little mice that run around the forge.

No worries, it is governed by a fairly complicated series of programs and I don't have immediate recall of all its workings despite updating them a few years ago. If there is a consistent problem then I will be glad to trouble-shoot it soon, but if it's not a big deal then it's probably a rainy day project.

This happens pretty frequently to the Waterdeep version, but doesn't seem to happen much (if ever) to the Tantras version. I've not seen it do this for a long while though so hopefully is pretty rare now.
