Message post not responding

Post by Nysan » Tue Dec 17, 2013 9:36 pm

Object: Message post.

Issue: Cannot remove/take/delete notes posted by my characters. (Used to be able to, was this changed?)

log:
---
The Font of Knowledge

N-The Scrivener E-Corner of Stree

(-cut room description-)

A message post is here covered with notes. (superb)
A priest of Oghma stands here.

(-cut to related messages-)

21) Gilain : All Lessons in practical crafts
22) Gilain : All Next Waukeen Raffle

command: note remove 21

<100%hp 0m 100%mv> You cannot remove that, but you could take it...
...if it were addressed to you or written by you.

command: note take 21

<100%hp 0m 100%mv> Notes addressed to 'all' can not be taken.
---

"Remove" echo even suggests I should be able to pull them, like I used to be able to... Thoughts?

I made this change a while ago because there were issues with people taking posts down who should not have been doing so.

The bottom line is that each board has a file which governs its actions and one component is the level at which someone can remove posts. In most cases, this is set so that only immortals can do so. Then there is the NOTE TAKE command which allows authors to pull their own notes ...except if they are addressed to ALL. So, going forward, you can either not address them to ALL or you can just apply and ask for one of the staff members to pull a note.

Ahh, intentional change, I understand that. I knew I used to be able to do it, when I needed to revise my event lists. Because I do not want to beg imms to deal with my obsessive posting behavior, to use 'note take' would I leave the 'note to' section blank, address it to myself, or?

You should be able to take your own note so long as it is not addressed to ALL.

I deal with this by using an address that means "all" without actually being "ALL," like "Everyone".
