Moh was killed by the Red Dragon on Holyhead, I heard from a tenured player that he may have been beefed up for a Imm run quest and was never returned. Here is a copy of the log where Moh never even got a hit in on the dragon.
Code: Select all
Mohana walks in from below.
A great red dragon says 'You have served me well. Now it is time for my dinner.'
A great red dragon approaches Mohana and prepares to engage her in combat!
A great red dragon sidesteps Mohana's piercing attack.
A great red dragon sidesteps Mohana's piercing attack.
A great red dragon sidesteps Mohana's piercing attack.
A great red dragon's bite perforates Mohana's left arm.
A shaft of flame shoots from the dragon's mouth to enshroud you.
OUCH!
A great red dragon's bite drills in to Mohana's head.
A great red dragon's claw deeply penetrates Mohana's chest.
A great red dragon's claw penetrates Mohana's abdomen.
With a bonecrunching sound a great red dragon's wing buffet deftly smashes Mohana's abdomen.
A great red dragon's wing buffet shreds Mohana's abdomen.
With a bonecrunching sound a great red dragon's crush skillfully smashes Mohana's chest.
With a sickening sound a great red dragon's tail sweep breaks Mohana's chest.
A great red dragon's breath nearly removes Mohana's left arm.
A steel ring set with a dark blue diamond spills out onto the ground.
A spined heavy shield trimmed with white fur spills out onto the ground.
A silver bracelet set with a dark blue diamond spills out onto the ground.
Mohana's severed left arm falls to the ground!
A great red dragon sidesteps Mohana's piercing attack.
A great red dragon sidesteps Mohana's piercing attack.
A great red dragon sidesteps Mohana's piercing attack.
Mohana steps back, out of range of a great red dragon's jaws.
A shaft of flame shoots from the dragon's mouth to enshroud you.
OUCH!
A great red dragon's claw deeply penetrates Mohana's abdomen.
A great red dragon's claw deeply penetrates Mohana's abdomen.
You aren't fighting anyone.
With a bonecrunching sound a great red dragon's wing buffet skillfully smashes Mohana's chest.
With a bonecrunching sound a great red dragon's wing buffet skillfully smashes Mohana's chest.
With a bonecrunching sound a great red dragon's crush deftly smashes Mohana's chest.
A great red dragon's tail sweep viciously crushes Mohana's head.
A great red dragon's breath nearly removes Mohana's chest.
Mohana is DEAD!

All of the dragons in game were enhanced a few years ago. It appears that you attempted to solo one of the biggest ones in the game. I am not sure why this is a bug?

Well, maybe it's not a "bug", but to be frank it seems a little unfair. It's a matter of: "Come play my quest!" It's even in the help file for the area. Then, as you think you are progressing you are slain without warning or chance. If it's not a bug, then its a matter of taste of building quests and I might suggest some alterations.

Fair enough. Meanwhile, just chalk it up to the fickle nature of dragons.

Perhaps there could be an echo where the dragon begins to inhale for a breath of fire, giving a brief window to gtfo before the player is BBQ'd? If someone chooses to stand there after a dragon starts to inhale, then they probably have gotten what is coming to them.
Alternatively, I don't see an issue with the dragon backstabbing the adventurer. One should be careful when dealing with wyrms anyway. But perhaps as a trade off, the dragon should occasionally go out to hunt, ie vacate his lair. The idea is that players will die here for their quest choices, and not just from the mistake of wandering into a dragon's den. But in exchange they could have a small window in which their remains could be retrieved.

Several seconds of leeway, with verbal or smote'd cue for the adventurer to turn tail, would make all the difference, I think. The player might not feel so "lured to their doom" as they were given available opportunity to run like the dickens.

I can see a dragon playing with a pc like a hot potato, so maybe being shoved out too if they lose interest?
Justice is not neccesarily honourable, it is a tolerable business, in essence you tolerate honour until it impedes justice, then you do what is right.
