I broke the quest trying to extinquish the lamps with water so aysa could do her quest. here is a copy of what happened. Sorry.
ou say 'I wonder if water might work'

The gravel path here deviates neatly from its steady course.
A small semi-circular patch of gravel juts towards the wall,
but does not disturb the eerie order of the topiary trees. A
small resting place for the living among the resting dead, a
fountain bubbles water as cold and clean as the rest of this
antiseptic place.
The sky is cool sleeting and a cold northern gust blows.
A statue of a woman pours water into a wide basin here. (perfect)

Aysa shrugs, 'It might be worth a shot. We'll try the next one.'.

Silent stone brackets a gravel path here thinly garnished by
natural beauty. A lawn fit for one of the Sea Ward manses is
neat and even beside it, trees sculpted as one might find on
a path to the gates of a song-filled monastery march near to
the wall, and yet for all of the things of beauty here there
is no life with it. No noble fetes, no songs of men, only an
ornate monument to the end of life.
The sky is cool sleeting and a cold northern gust blows.
(Glowing) A tall black iron lamp post stands here. (perfect)

Aysa giggles, 'It's enchanted!'.
You say, OOC, 'thats confusing lol says i extiquished it'
Aysa says, OOC, 'whoa'
Aysa says, OOC, 'where'd it go?'

Broken lamp lighting quest in city of dead
Re: Broken lamp lighting quest in city of dead
The quest isn't broken. You can go back and complete it when the lamps repop. What did you type though? Douse? All I can do short of a hard code fix is to use soft code to prevent that.

Re: Broken lamp lighting quest in city of dead
empty flask lamp. it says it extinguished it but it still showed as lit then just vanished. Good to know it is not totally broken though.

Re: Broken lamp lighting quest in city of dead
That behaviour (the delay in it actually going out) is common to all extinguished flames, so at least that bit's not new.Gorwin wrote:empty flask lamp. it says it extinguished it but it still showed as lit then just vanished. Good to know it is not totally broken though.
Re: Broken lamp lighting quest in city of dead
Added a ham-handed fix for this which will update when next the game does.
