I believe I ran into a bug with the mob named (as stated in the subject line) 'An elven woodsman collects branches here.'

I typed 'list' and was shown the following:
An elven woodsman shows you a selection of woods and indicates to you their price.
A wooden branch 1 copper
A piece of ash 2 copper
A maple branch 3 copper
A pine branch 4 copper
A piece of hickory 5 copper
A length of ebony 2 gold

I wanted to try buying just the plain wooden branch so typed 'buy branch' and was told:
An elven woodsman says to you 'Simply give me the coins and I will give you the'
An elven woodsman says to you 'wood to that value.'

Here's where I came to the bug. I typed 'give 1 copper woodsman' and the following happened:
You give an elven woodsman some money.
OK.
An elven woodsman says to you 'I am sorry but I am out of stock of that kind of wood.'
An elven woodsman gives you 2 copper coins.

I tried it a second time to confirm, and both times was given 2 copper coins in return. I checked my inventory, and do indeed have two more copper coins than I began with. I have not tested any of the other types of wood listed.
