Fleeing
Fleeing
One of my characters was exploring and came across a challanging creature. Before the encounter I was at you are about half-way towards your next level. After several rooms of fleeing I am now only over a third of the way to your next level. Does Fleeing cause loss in xp?
Re: Fleeing
Yes, it does. I believe 'help flee' used to mention that, if it does not now then that should be added again.

Re: Fleeing
It's covered in
HELP Experience
but not currently in
HELP Flee
I thought that was sufficient, but I can be swayed otherwise.

Re: Fleeing
While fleeing does currently cost experience points and it is in the help files I have to question as to why it should cost experience? I think this is largely hold over code from ages past rather than something that is the ruleset we're trying to mirror. I do not recall and have had no luck in finding where a person gets negative EXP from fleeing an encounter in SRD Rules. All I have found are only a few ways to lose experience and that is being raised from the dead, certain spells either casting or being target of, undead or level draining attacks, and crafting of magical items.
