I'm a new player, and one of the most annoying "gotchas" so far has been that I cannot resize masterwork(?) or magical equipment at a smith. My halfling character dropped 100 platinum on an item she couldn't use very early on in her career because I didn't know this OOC non-canonical information.
Can a notification about magical equipment resizing be placed in help resize?
(I have been informed that this information is implied in "help renames", but this is not particularly helpful.)
Thanks!

Re: "help resize"
I believe there are smiths that are capable of doing this, but they are few and far between? Not something I'm at all sure of, so if anyone can be authoritative on this, please speak up. If it is true it can only be done via application, this is an excellent suggestion and I'll add it to the helpfile.
Re: "help resize"
One can change the size of an object flagged masterwork at a smith. The trouble is with objects flagged magic; the sizes of these can only be changed via application* or on those occasions where a resize merchant^ is added for a limited time.
* At a cost of 20 glory per size
^ These are rarely added, but will change the size of anything for a gold price.

Re: "help resize"
Right-o, helpfile updated. Thanks for the information!
Re: "help resize"
Thank you both for the quick responses and information.
My view, from the outside, is that those resizing policies seem unnecessarily unfair and that they should be reviewed. In particular, it seems like an inappropriate non-canonical response to general resizing issues and policy.
Here is a related thread that seems to be unresolved and unaddressed:

Thanks for the feedback which came complete with a link to an old discussion. I've broached the issue again with the staff; we will discuss it and bring the results to the game administrator.

Re: "help resize"
Been a while sinceI made a new character. And recently when I went through the process, the newbie padded armor resized to fit my char upon wearing it.
I was curious if this is under consideration to be applied mudwide to the random generated armor and weapons from quests.
Whilst I've heard there's a vendor who can now resize for gnomes / halflings. It would mean these races aren't restricted to trading only with each other. Unless the vendor can shift it bak to medium, then nevermind me.

I trained up double-edged bananas because the uber-plantain of doom I scored from the beehive quest was the best weapon in the game. Now it's being treated like a bug and they have gimped its damage! That's not fair! My character is ruined!
