Adding Heal Level
Adding Heal Level
Ok me a Roderick just took on a vampire and seriously got our buts kiced.. .I lost 4 levels and he.... poor Roderick lost 20 levels.... Is there anyway we can get say Headpreists in the Temples to be able to cast Restoration, so when there are no other priests online like today, or when the one we relied on... Me.... also loses restoration.... that we can get those levels back? I propse the code be in line with Heal Level ?

Re: Adding Heal Level
I've previously suggested making restoration brewable or having potions of restoration added to shop mobiles. I think having npc clerics cast restoration for a fee would also be good, if not all npc priests, then at least the ones that train restoration. It would either be that, or to lessen the casting of restoration by monsters that can cast it every round or removing the time limit set to recover levels.
Justice is not neccesarily honourable, it is a tolerable business, in essence you tolerate honour until it impedes justice, then you do what is right.

Re: Adding Heal Level
I am in agreeance, I have lost quite a few levels due to level drain on one character or anouther. I think some change needs to happen because level drain it does hurt but serves a purpose in a way. I think making npc priests being able to cast it would be wonderful.

Re: Adding Heal Level
I believe there are some of these kinds of healers already, if you can find them.
It would be nice if there was say a 5 to 10 loss cap on level drain. If you have say 7 negative levels, you cannot lose any more until they become permanent, as in they can no longer be restored after several hours.
Undead should still be threatening, and thus it should require proper planning when confronting them. Some areas are going to hurt, and hurt bad, but anything more than 10 levels lost is just ridiculous. And even then that should only be in the worst of cases.
Though, I do not like say 'just shoving restoration' on every mob healer in the game, either. Limiting it to the chief priests in major temples was a good idea. Though I would rather see healing mobs get revive or dispel magic first.
The last consideration I have, would be adding level differences (more heavily if they already are) into the combat calculations of these undead mobs. Say if that nasty vampiric gerbil is twenty levels below you, it should fail, and keep failing to drain any levels.

Re: Adding Heal Level
Let me know if there are still vampire gerbils out there draining levels at vampire lich levels, now that there's been a change in how undead drain levels.

Re: Adding Heal Level
I propose: 'supplicate restoration'. It would cover the need to have a way to restore drained levels in the offpeak hours and it wouldn't be as subject to abuse as being able to buy it with coin. Because people are just filthy rich these days.
Example.

I fully support this idea.Rhangalas wrote:I propose: 'supplicate restoration'. It would cover the need to have a way to restore drained levels in the offpeak hours and it wouldn't be as subject to abuse as being able to buy it with coin. Because people are just filthy rich these days.
