Two weapon defense + magic shield bonus.

Two weapon defense gives a +1 shield bonus when you dual wield, this is not being applied cumulativley with a magic ring giving a + to the shield bonus, as these are from different sources i think they should.

Unfortunately, it does not matter where the bonuses are coming from, it's the type of bonus that matters. This is why the spell Shield and a mundane shield do not stack. They are both a shield bonus. That's just the way the bonuses work in SRD. It's done that way to make things simple, otherwise people could argue over every single thing about their character to squeeze out a few more AC points.

Two bonuses of the same type rarely stack; in this case, both are named as "shield" (in FK & 3.5 d20) and therefore would not stack. Working as intended I believe.

If you carry that ring around you can probably find someone who will trade you a +deflection or +natural for it. I got rid of one of my +natural items because it was completely overshadowed by a spell I commonly used.

Two-Weapon Defense [General]
Prerequisites
Dex 15, Two-Weapon Fighting.

Benefit
When wielding a double weapon or two weapons (not including natural weapons or unarmed strikes), you gain a +1 shield bonus to your AC. See the Two-Weapon Fighting special attack.

When you are fighting defensively or using the total defense action, this shield bonus increases to +2.

A fighter may select Two-Weapon Defense as one of his fighter bonus feats.

Does the shield bonus become +2 when fighting in combatmode +defensive?

Just to update this, two-weapon defense does NOT give +2 to shield AC when in defensive position. I will submit this as a bug report.
