So, when encountering this quest, I ended up triggering its refusal when I was promoting what the game instructs you to do when answering npcs by giving a realistic answer instead of just the keyword.

I trained up double-edged bananas because the uber-plantain of doom I scored from the beehive quest was the best weapon in the game. Now it's being treated like a bug and they have gimped its damage! That's not fair! My character is ruined!

Being unable to predict the range of possible answers from a player, builders must choose a select few words for quest dialog. In this case, not was one of the negative keywords. If you find yourself in this case, and the quest will not allow you to progress, then please submit an application with the full details of your case. Any such applications will be reviewed and your quest may be reset.
