The brackets are wrong in the following online helpfile.

You would use the following when editing your description:

   }30}A dwarf chooses brown as the base colour of her
       description but uses }90}red to emphasize the forge
       burns on her hands.

I believe that this was intentional (meant to show the brackets so that the user can understand how the colors were done), but the help file has been repaired.
