Mostly for flair.
A new combat mode would be created "sleight of hand" to activate / deactivate.
If active the character would attempt to take/leave items silently (without producing an echo), so taking items from the floor/containers, leaving items on the floor/containers would no produce an echo yet other players still would have the chance of seeing that they attempt to conceal their actions with a spot check, like detecting a hide character, they would see "XXXXX takes YYYY from ZZZ silently"
Actions done this way would cost extra movement points so it is not a skill to activate and forget.

Re: Steal
Justice is not neccesarily honourable, it is a tolerable business, in essence you tolerate honour until it impedes justice, then you do what is right.

Re: Steal
This is something I have *always* wanted to have. I couldn't even begin to go into the number of times it would have been a fun tool.
Re: Steal
I would also include giving items to other PC/NPC. The receiver would always get the echo that XXXX does YYYY silently, giving something to someone without the receiver knowing is planting, which is something supposedly possible (help plant).
Re: Steal
Needs a weight check though, or some sneaky thief will be handing you a piano.
Re: Steal
The "plant skill," works wonders with PC's & NPC's. Of course you could role-play the sneakiness, but just to echo in here, if ever there's a rainy code-day, "sleight of hand" would be a nice little addition to be backed by the code.Parsley wrote:I would also include giving items to other PC/NPC.
