Not allowed uncoded deities
Not allowed uncoded deities
I was browsing through the "Howto: Special Rolepays" thread in Game Policies and Howtos (because I'm really bored today), and I stumbled upon this,
"Note. Applications to follow Sharess, Garagos, or Eilistraee will all be denied."
I don't really get why these gods cannot have followers. Is there a reason for this?

Re: Not allowed uncoded deities
Two of those have been disallowed because following their dogmas would cause a player to violate game rules.
The third was disallowed to prevent having a run of Drizzts all over the game.

Re: Not allowed uncoded deities
Eilistraee would fall in line wih the thought that there are alignment restrictions for all drow. They must be evil, whereas she is a deity of good.
Sharess is the patroness of hedonistic pleasures and that does not coincide with the PG-13 rating. Sune is coded & an acceptable version of similar aspects, as Llirra (though she is an uncoded option.)
Garagos the same as above, only with violence/mindless slaughter. We have Tempus for the battle category & Talos for destruction.
You can search the forums & see the other discussions on the same topic.

Re: Not allowed uncoded deities
What about non-drow Eilistraeans? She takes Halfdrow, halfelf, elf, and really most other races as followers (though not as priestesses).
I've actually been thinking up a character concept for a servant of Eilistraee. I'd be super sad if not. lol

Re: Not allowed uncoded deities
There are also other gods of war and battles that are better controlled than Garagos that you can apply for.

True! Except, a huge part of her dogma is about drow, "Encourage drow to return to the surface world and work to promote harmony between drow and surface- dwelling races in order to establish the drow as rightful, nonevil inhabitants of Faerun." Which is where the Drizzt, issue would come into play as Harroghty mentioned.dolifer wrote:What about non-drow Eilistraeans? The only one that I could see as probably not working in regards to game mechanics is Zaltec, he's like a Matzican Garagos.

Re: Not allowed uncoded deities
Should be noted for general purposes that that list is current to FR, so has a lot of 4e nonsense about dead gods and schizophrenic gods and gods who don't actually exist in the FK time frame.Gwain wrote:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_F ... ms_deities

Even if its tainted by 4e rubbish, I trust that the player and the application admins can sort through it to find appropriate choices when and if its used.

Oh, I agree, was just noting it contained some information that doesn't apply to FR. Apologies if it sounded harsher than I meant it to, harder to convey tone now that smilies don't work.Gwain wrote:Even if its tainted by 4e rubbish, I trust that the player and the application admins can sort through it to find appropriate choices when and if its used.
