I just started out on the mud a few days ago, though really I've tried a few times before in years past but never even made it past the tutorial. The mud I played on for a very long time has died out greatly but even in its hayday it was more hack n slash than anything else. I really enjoy rp and was one of the few there to take place, generally resulting in various negative outcomes. I saw an ad for this mud like a week ago when I was browsing Top Muds on a whim and remembered the name from before I really had much mud experience or knew anything about Forgotten Realms. Anyways, the last few days have been spent reading over the tons and tons of (very helpful) help files and trying not to spam the ask channel too hard. Its super exciting to actually know what I'm doing (uuuuh...one way to put it) but were it not for the help I've received from the community, I'm sure I would have had a muuuuuch more frustrating time even transitioning just this much and getting past that initial block of learning. Welcome. Of all the Medieval themed muds I've played, this is the only one that I've found hit's the right mix of Hack 'n' slash and roleplay so far. And the only one where the game is designed to encourage a very uniquely friendly playerbase in general.

I trained up double-edged bananas because the uber-plantain of doom I scored from the beehive quest was the best weapon in the game. Now it's being treated like a bug and they have gimped its damage! That's not fair! My character is ruined!

Welcome to FK! This place is awesome. I don't think you'll find a MUD out there that allows you to immerse with your character, and environment, quite like this one. Never be afraid to ask questions, as this game has a lot to learn about!
