Armor Questions

Speaking in terms of not magical armor....

I have a light chain set with +4 AC and I have a Dex mod of +4.... the only other thing that would give me MORE AC is a set of Full Plate correct?

Also what disadvantages would I be looking at if I head down that road?

I'm a Fighter who is looking to dual wield if that helps makes a difference.

I'd love to see things like this asked ICly (and would be very happy to have that RP if you can catch me in game!). But my very short and for now unexplained answer is...

For a high-dex fighter, full plate if he has the STR, brigandine otherwise.

That's my own personal opinion, however. Reasons to be given in the game.

Actually with a +4 dex mod it's only a 1 point difference with full. And as Areia said I'd ask ICly. I could explain it but it's more fun in character!

Thanks for this question and answer, as a new player here, I wasn't sure how to go about addressing this. I will have to find a decent way to ask about it! I am also wondering how size of the armor works, but hopefully will be able to talk to someone about that as well.
