Drow and Undermountain

Drow have been locked away from parts of UM for what I assume to be historical reasons. Such reasons may include preventing access of drow to the surface. Given that this barrier is now broken, I am proposing for drow to be able to access the quests in UM. This includes the use of portals in the UM.

Half-drow are not hamstrung by this limitation, neither should full blooded drow.

Odd, unless I'm mistaken, there IS a way to enter all areas of Undermountain for the underdark races. Am I wrong?

As far as I know svirfnebli can enter it freely as any surfacer. Never been there with either my drow or my svirfneblin, but I know from reliable IC sources, i.e. my characters' buddies.

Needless to say, I agree with Llarthyr. Actually if I am not wrong, there are even drow inside Undermountain as foes, in the lore, and in one videogame's expansion, Neverwinter Nights Hordes of the Underdark, the drow attack Waterdeep coming up from Undermountain.
