Feast of the Moon Celebration

Post by Areia » Mon Mar 14, 2016 5:47 am

The time for Moonfeast draws near, and I invite friends, allies, members, and hopefuls of Death's flock to gather in the gardens just north of Kelemvor's shrine in Daggerford for food, friendship, and above all, rememberance of those who have come and gone before us.

Those who attend are encouraged to bring with them stories of at least one person who has passed--be it a friend, loved one, or otherwise--to share with other attendees, for in remembering and recalling do we honor the dead.

A friendly competition is also to be held, wherein those who choose to participate will present to the congregation one work of art relating to death, passing, or the dead. This can be a poem, a song, a painting, or any other creative and original piece of art that illustrates something significant about the Word of our Lord Death. Professional bards and artists need not be the only to enter, and All who do will be rewarded with coin, provided the work isn't obviously meant to be offensive or otherwise distasteful at a Kelemvorite gathering. Each member of the audience will be asked to make an annonymous vote for his or her favorite presentation some time during the meal, and those who earn the most and second most votes will be offered an additional prize.

Enemies of the Great Guide should keep away from the immediate area during this time.

Until we then meet, may your days be lived well.

Areia Cindrael, Deathlord of Kelemvor

This time (3:00 PM EST on Saturday, 16 April) should be *roughly* around the time for the actual Feast of the Moon, in game.
The end time is really open-ended. I personally plan to be hanging around until whenever the last person feels like leaving. :D
Post here or PM if the time isn't great, I'd like as many to make it as possible. And please PM me or send Areia a letter IC at least an RL week before the event with your PC's name if you intend to present in the competition, as that'll give me an idea of how many to expect and how many cartloads of money and other goodies to bring. ;)

How would starting an hour or two later work for everyone? Not set in stone, just seeing what'd be best for most people. :)

Two weeks to inform me of your entry into the contest! To quote a super sweet game I've been having a longing to play but haven't seen in decades,
Big money! Big prizes! I love it!

I was surprised to be able to make this, but It seems there's nothing that saturday .

An hour later is fine with me.
I trained up double-edged bananas because the uber-plantain of doom I scored from the beehive quest was the best weapon in the game. Now it's being treated like a bug and they have gimped its damage! That's not fair! My character is ruined!

I will do my best to make it. That's 3PM for me, and weekend afternoons are always iffy.

Good to hear. :)

People are more than welcome to do poems/songs/whatever, but no one save those who PM'd me before the deadline I mentioned (last Saturday) will probably be rewarded very greatly, as two days isn't really enough time for me to ready more material goodies. But additions are super appreciated!

It was a quiet one, but still very enjoyable on my end. I always like hearing about characters' offscreen relationships and older characters I never got to meet.

Thank you a hundred times for those who showed up. I hope it was as enjoyable for you all.

Jolly good show. Next time let's go to the city of judgment!

Absolutely top notch time! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have a log of it that I am editing to remove extraneous things. Let me know if you want a copy.

It was nice! Thanks for hosting it.
Justice is not neccesarily honourable, it is a tolerable business, in essence you tolerate honour until it impedes justice, then you do what is right.

Spelling is not necessarily correct :)

It was interesting even though I arrived a bit late and had to leave the computer for a while during it. Still interesting.
Rycird walks up to the seemingly comatose woman, then reaches forward to poke Areia in the forehead, keeping his finger there and lightly pushing her head back and forth. 'See? Dead.'

If you disconnect, he will find you.

Copy is ready for distribution. PM your email if you'd like one.

I've also added a link to the song Nikkos sang so that you can hear it.
