Swords are Not Heavy

Post by Harroghty » Sat Sep 16, 2017 2:27 pm

The boy and I watched this this morning I figured I would pass it along because, as Mr. Clements says, pop culture keeps telling us the wrong thing (i.e. swords are heavy). (And sometimes the game code doesn't know any better!)

Thanks for the video, Harroghty. I've always wanted to learn how to fight using traditional european longswords, and this channel has a ton of info. I've held more than a few swords, and you're right, they're deceptively light! I even have a longsword that I used in my wedding, and it weighs barely over 7 pounds, extremely easy to wield.

I'll definitely be watching more of this fellows vids. ^.^

You can check out John's website for the Association of Renaissance Martial Arts (http://www.thearma.org/). I recommend his books, too, which can be found on Amazon. His books were among the first ones I read when I moved from fencing and kendo to longsword.
