Having no issues with the forum on my end

Connecting to the game is still too laggy to actually bring up the login screen from my laptop's client though.

It's definitely not the client, no. One thing I've noticed: My connection rate with putty is about 50/50. When something works, the login screen appears normally. When the connection is doomed, the login screen appears without the colon at the very end.

I, too, have been having issues. Haven't been able to log on for almost a week, I just thought it was my awful internet at Work, but it appears that I'm not the only one.

Also, TMC client seems another good option for the moment, while we wait our clients to become functional again: http://www.mudconnect.com/fmud/

It highlights much less than MUDportal and allows a decent amount of customization, despite no vt100 and some text butchering.
