Brew and Scribe teaching event

Post by Dapher » Sat Nov 04, 2017 1:48 pm

I am trying to decide if or when I should attempt a teaching event for brew and scribe. I have four questions.

1) How many people would be interested in attending this event if it was hosted by Jarris Taril?

2) How many people would be interested in attending this event if it was hosted by Dapher Dullyn?

3) When would be a good time or date to hold this event? I know holidays are approaching and my family is preparing to welcome a new child into this world.

4) What would most of us consider a fair price? I have charged anywhere from 50 plat for each skill up to 300 plat for each skill. The more people we get that are interested, the lower the price will go.

One thing to keep in mind, Jarris is a racist in many ways, and he has a strong hatred for evil hearted people. Dapher is also a racist, but he has less knowledge regarding people's alignment, so it would be easier for an evil to sneak in, especially if they are a fairly unknown character. If we can get someone to the event that is neutral -and- has teacher feats, we can get someone on the evil side of the spectrum to pass the skills along.

Translation: Furtaltik wants to party with Dapher. He can't learn brewing, and it's far enough away that barring a ton of grinding between now and, say, Thanksgiving, I don't see him getting 35 in time. BUT! He'll happily buy spells from all the flashy new scribes at the party.

Depending on the when and number of attendants in need, I have a PC who has both very much missed Dapher and is able and willing to teach both brew and scribe to even known evils, as long as they're not the irresponsible super chaotic Cyricist sort of evil. Essentially, just hide the Cyricist symbols away and you're pretty much fine by her.

Let me know if her help would be wanted, dapher. She'd love to see her old master again. :) Also, good to see you've been back on!

Alright! I have made a decision. The first teaching session will be held by Jarris (dates to follow) the second will be held by Dapher. These will happen late November, or early December, and likely a week apart from each other. In January, I am planning on holding two more sessions just like the first two. That will give people ample time to plan and prepare new characters for what will come in 2 months. If you are purchasing both it will cost a total of 150 platinum. If you are only purchasing a single skill the cost will be 100 platinum. As soon as I work out the dates with my wife, and work I will post them here on this thread. I am still open to any suggestions or requests.

I, Jarris Taril, Warpriest of the Foehammer will be offering my services as a teacher. The primary purpose will be teaching the skills of scribe and brew to the masses. To attend this event, you will be required to bring a scroll of your own, and a flask of your own, in addition if you only seek one skill the price will be 100 platinum, if you seek both skills the price will be 150 platinum total.

OOC: I am not sure how long the event will take, that will in part depend on how many and what questions are asked. The time and date are: https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ ... 16&p1=5252 If you cannot attend this event, do not fret we will have more of these events. If you have further questions please PM me, or post them here on the thread.

Due to a lack of response to this thread and another event that undercuts the prices charged by Dapher and Jarris, I have decided to cancel my events.

Sometimes people don't post that they will be attending, and instead just show up at the time planned. I'd encourage you still hold at least one of these, not everyone is going to be able to attend an Oghman event.

For what it's worth I don't think my alt would go to the Oghman event. And I got him up to brewable status. So you can still make some money off me. :D

Fear not, Dapher and Jarris still offer a multitude of spells/prayers, skills and trades that they are willing to teach. Jarris will be attending the other teaching event. I am hoping to be on these characters a little more. If you PM me, we can set up a time to teach your characters.
