Re: General Questions
Does the mounted rescue feat dismount you when you rescue from a mount?
I trained up double-edged bananas because the uber-plantain of doom I scored from the beehive quest was the best weapon in the game. Now it's being treated like a bug and they have gimped its damage! That's not fair! My character is ruined!
Re: General Questions
Nope. It also allows you to rescue the minion you are presently mounting. It's a super handy feat.Yemin wrote: Does the mounted rescue feat dismount you when you rescue from a mount?

Re: General Questions
Has Thaymount been editted on the world map to be called something else since the recent updates to the Thay area?

Re: General Questions
The Thaymount is still there at the centre of Thay, divided between the foothills and slopes. If this pertains to finding a certain item as part of a quest being found there, this remains unchanged.

Re: General Questions
Do aligned weapons (and DR/alignment) currently exist in the game? I've been looking into DR since maining a rogue (as we rarely have the raw damage to break through them, especially vs. undead) and this one's had me curious.

Good=Holy, an inactive flag, so unfortunately it doesn't appear to be working. "Evil" is still a functional flag but I don't believe it does anything other than black aura for detect evil.

Things are currently being tried out which may lead to more options in the future, no promises.Yemin wrote:So in this post:

Re: General Questions
Is there a weapon type heavy flail in FK? I mean not the 1d8 /x2 one-handed flail but the 1d10 19-20/x2 two-handed heavy version.
...But if thou hast done evil, fear her. For she beareth not her sword in vain. For she is the Lord's instrument: a wrathful avenger unto the wicked.
Re: General Questions
The list of weapon types available is listed here: http://www.forgottenkingdoms.org/builders/olesson12.php
Flail is obviously on the list, but nothing that seems to be a 2H only heavy flail. A flail could be made 2H only but with my admittedly limited knowledge, it would still be a 1d8 die. Someone more knowledgable than me would need to confirm if any 2H versions already exist with 1d10.

Re: General Questions
I don't think the "fullblade" entry actually works. Or at least I wasn't able to get it to.

Re: General Questions
I have a bit of an rp quesiton/idea request. In the past I've made physically disfigured and injured characters, and they would often be offered the option of fixing their injuries and such by other pc's, and I always struggled to come up with reasons why they couldn't, since it wasn't quite IC for them to just say no out of pride in their injuries. Any ideas on reasons why one couldn't would be really welcome!

Re: General Questions
Disfigurements from birth can't be fixed by healing magic in some Fr novels / sources
Abject poverty such as monks who forswear possessions. Monk in the theological sense, not martial sense as martial monks will probably go out of their way to get anything that makes htem stronger.
Being cursed by even something as relatively weak as a succubus with a wound will also give almost every faerunian priest issues healing the wound. Let alone being hit with a Balor's curse or an avatar's direct negative attention.
Special abilities, agin from things like demons, devils and angels like the profain kiss from a succubus will drain your life force and might lead to advanced effects of aging, brittle bones, weak eyesight, malfunctioning bladder. Can't be healed with a heal spell or even cured. Best that can be done is remove the mind control and though it can be cured with restoration up to a point. Leave it long enough andits perminent. Also, most priests won't know what is causing it to even cast restoration in the first place unless they were there and saw the kiss. You could use this sort of thing for nearly any disfigurement that would be caused by wasting away of a portion of the body really.
Being hit with a cursed weapon can't usually be healed in a straight forward manner either. Being the wielder of such a weapon is even worse.
Basically, I guess what i'm saying is, there are lots of ways but all of them bar very few are magical in nature. Like anything else in FR / FK, if you is all healthy because magic reasons, you can be ill because magic reasons too.
I think my favourite is probably the unknown poison that can be delayed or stalled, but can't be healed. Magic poisons and magic disease exist in profusion.
Also, being a super powerful arrogance secreting wizard helps out. I find no one offers to regrow Mers's eye.

Poor arrogant Mers. But thank you for this! Gave me some ideas to work it out properly now. ^-^
Re: General Questions
I've seen PC items made of mithril, silver, and adamantine--leaving the 4th special material up for grabs. Is cold iron a product that PCs can actually make? The RMI table only ever seems to drop longswords, but this material does have practical applications in game.

You heat cold iron in a red hot forge.
You hammer the ring into shape.

Re: General Questions
Sort of a not very fun mechanical question here, but...
Is there any reason why, or have many other players noticed, that a PC with GM fourth attack and a DEX modifier higher than 0 would fails sometimes to make a fourth attack?
I've noticed it for a while now, and so have been keeping an eye on it over the last few weeks. Elisabeth will not only fail to make a fourth attack, but does so pretty often, sometimes multiple times in a single encounter even. I've had other low-DEX fighters before, and never noticed something like this even with fifth attack. I've checked armor, dexterity, and the skill level itself, and all seem to be just as they were for the fighter for whom I do not recall ever noticing similar failure.
