Race enemy in FK
Race enemy in FK
Whar it some time to choose a racial enemy. How broad is the raceenemy command?
eg: in PnP 2nd Ed. some enemies were very specific (gnoll, ettercap, etc.) and some were broad (undead, giants, etc.)
can the race enemy in FK be a specific group (eg Undead, goblinoid) or must it be specific (eg Skeleton, hobgoblin)?
Just want to know for sure, before I pick, since I only get one shot.

You select a race of creature from the builders lessons, though I believe the current race list is in need of an update for all the new races recently added with the last code update.

The race list list separately things like mummy, skeleton, vampire, etc., but there is also a race entry "undead." Is this race entry all-encompassing of the others, or a separate, generic undead race for any creatures that don't fit into the previous?
Just curious.

So how will the older characters be effected now?
Using the above example, an older ranger may have chosen undead as his race enemy, as that was all that was available way back when, but now, as has been pointed out, that selection as a race will soon cease to exist.
SO will the older rangers have the chance to rechoose, or no?

The feat is called "foe hunter" in 3e. I can't remember if that's the name of it in the game, but it allows a non-ranger to pick a racial enemy. That way, those evil, cannabalistic fighters can choose their own race. I think in 3e, you had to have the "foe hunter" feat in order to target your own race as a race enemy reguardless of if you were a ranger, but I'm not sure.
From your friendly neighborhood ranger
Yeah, I believe it is called foe hunter...By the way since were already on the topic does anyone have a list of the enemy types you can set as your racial enemy? It was brought up in a thread that you couldn't set your racial enemy as a general race like 'undead' so I was wondering if anyone had the sources for a list of the coded races you could use for your racial enemy. Thanks
Just wondering, but is this list out of date again?
Wondering this because of the new char creation system. Also, as to specific races, if you chose elves as your racial enemy, would you get bonuses against ALL elves (sun elves, moon elves, ect). Or just the old mobs that were set to just a plain old elf?
Thanks,
