Word spreads throughout the realms that the Church of Tymora will be sponsoring the Race
of Fate! The Race of Fate is a long distance race that this year will start and end in
Waterdeep. Throughout the course, racers will have to deal with the many obstacles
commonly found on the roads, and will have to pass tests in at least three different
check points before they may continue the race.
Luckbringer Niccele Galuchin is looking for three brave adventurers to compete in the race.
Racers of all level of skill are invited to join provided they feel able to defend
themselves against hazards along the road and are not enemies of the Church of Tymora.
Racers can use whatever method of travel they have at their disposal with the exception
of instantaneous travel magic. You may run, bounce, fly and ride. No poofing! A fabulous
prize is in store for the winner of this race, so be sure to get your name in if you
are interested in racing!
Please contact the Luckbringer to put your name in to be a contestant. She will be taking
names either in person or via magical post until this time.
If we have more than three applicants for the race, there will be a competition to
determine who will be racing! Once we have our three racer, their various skills will
be weighed and odds will be placed on each one. Then the date of the race will be
announced and people of the realms will be able to place bets on their favorites until
the day of the race!

We have our racers! Three brave adventurers have submitted their names to participate in the Race of Fate. Each of them has very different talents, which should make for an excellent race! Our racers are George of Chauntea, Renea of Waukeen, and Elisabeth of Tyr. A bard, a wizard and a paladin! Could things get more exciting?!
To come up with some very simple odds for betting, I have scored these three racers in a variety of categories.
Now keep in mind that these scores only give an idea of the competitors strengths in different areas. There will be a variety of challenges along the race course that will test the racers, so anything can happen!
To start with, there will be a cap of 50 platinum on betting. You may only bet on one racer to win the race. Depending on the number of bets placed, those who attend the actual raise may be allowed to raise their bets. Betting will take place until the day before the race. (OOC: Exactly 24 hours before the race happens.)
After reviewing the scores for each racer they are given these odds:
Elisabeth: 2 to 1
Renea: 3 to 1
George: 4 to 1
If the maximum bid of fifty platinum is placed this amount of coin would be returned to you:
Elisabeth: 150 platinum
Renea: 200 platinum
George: 250 platinum

Just a reminder! Tomorrow is the last day to place bids! If you have not placed a bid by tomorrow evening, you will not be able to place a bid at the race. However, if you have placed a bid by tomorrow evening, you will be able to raise your bid by a substantial amount if you attend the race!

Woo! We're back everyone and it is time for another race! This race will take place inside the walls of Waterdeep but will have no set route. Racers will have to race from checkpoint to checkpoint. Each checkpoint will have a clue to get you to the next checkpoint. Of course we will be putting out obstacles as well.

Hello everyone! I'm sorry, but real life hit hard for several months, but it is time to get this race underway. Since it has been such a long time, let's give two weeks for racers to register once again! If you are interested in taking part in this race, please let me know OOCly, or Niccele know ICly. Please do not worry about scheduling, I am not going to schedule this race until we have a time that will work for each racer! So sign up, it is going to be a good time! Woo!

This time, the race is going to be taking place within the walls of Waterdeep. Checkpoints will be set up all around the city, with clues at each checkpoint to get to the next one. At each check point, each racer will have to drink from a mystery flask that could contain a number of substances, from milk to hard liquor! So things could get pretty interesting after a few checkpoints. Who is the fastest? Who knows the city the best? Who can handle their drink the best? All of these are things to consider when placing your bets.
There will also be opportunities for people in the audience to interact with the racers and possibly change the turnout of the race. What will happen?!
