Annual Winterfest Auction

Good news, everybody! It's time to scour your carts and empty out your backpacks and bank accounts, because it's time for the annual Winterfect Auction!

Same as the other auctions, it's naturally a time to sell both goods *and* services, though of course it should be noted that the buyer assumes all responsibility for ensuring that any purchased services are carried out. Magical items, mundane items, comissions for art, music, performances, mercenary work, you name it you're welcome to try and buy or sell it! All sellers will be anonymous, excepting of course for services which require contact with the buyer.

Starting this very moment and until 11PM EST on december 20th you're welcome to submit to Renea either in person or through the magical post anything you might want to sell at auction. You may also include a note about minimum starting bids if you're so inclined, and if you'd like to you can also bundle multiple items together into a single lot (ie. multiple potion types, wand types, weapon types, mixed bag of clothes/components, haikus about all the seasons, etc., etc.). As per the usual the followers of Waukeen will be taking a 10% cut from the sales made and donating it directly to ongoing joint efforts to help the poor and infirmed working with the faith of Ilmater.

A list of goods for sale will be put up on the forums on monday the 21st of December, and possibly also on the noteboard with colours, depending on how lazy I am and how many items are submitted to the auction. However, if you're interested in seeing an item to determine how it looks you can feel free to ask Renea to show it to you in person. Once the list is up the auction will go up to 11PM EST on january 3rd.

You can bid by sending a letter to Renea through the post, or if you prefer by handing a letter to her in person. All bids should be written down just so there's hopefully a paper trail in case any are missed or misplaced. Be sure to include your name, the lot numbers of the items that you're bidding on, and how much you're bidding. All bids will be made in platinum and the list of bids will be updated at midnight EST each day, at the latest. For the last six hours of the auction the list will be updated as soon as each new bid is made.

The last hour of the auction will be entirely live - no bidding slips - and will take place at the Tower of Luck in Waterdeep. In order to try and foster an atmosphere of healthy competition I'll be trying out a few new rules to see how they go.

1) Any item that has not received at least one bid by the time the last hour of the live bidding begins will not be eligible to bid on (these items will be part of a one-tenday extended auction this time around).

2) For the last ten minutes of the auction any item which has not yet received at least one bid during the open bidding period will not be eligible to bid on.

I'm going to post a small OOC warning here: The host of this auction is lawful good and so if your bidding slips paint you as being obviously evil it may be rejected. The use of a pseudonym or a neutral third party is recommended in some cases. I'm quite aware that many waukeenar are neutral and that this may be atypical, but be that as it may that's the limitations of auctions held by this specific character. Thanks kindly.
