Mithril Chef: Waterdeep Part 2

Post by Lorelie » Wed Oct 27, 2021 6:59 pm

Hail from the churches of Lathander and Chauntea!

Fair greetings to all in the lands from the Trueseed Derayn Willowridge
and the Mornmistress Aurora Willowridge. In the spirit of creativity
and the celebration of plenty the Trueseed and the Mornmistress invite
competitors to come to the Spires of the Morning in Waterdeep and
participate in a cookery contest. Each contestant will produce three
dishes made from common ingrediants and one special, secret ingredient.
Contestant will be judged by a panel of honorable judges and scored
on each dish. The winner of the competition will be the one with the
highest score and will win a prize of 100 Platinum and the rights
to declare themselves a Mithril Chef.

Please contacts either Aurora or Derayn if you wish to participate
as a contestant. Either in person, via amulet, of via Magical Post.
We are looking for between three and five entrants
and hope to see an ample sized audience as well.

We are still making rules and will no doubt produce those in game
during the competition.

Rules!

Similar to past Mithril Chef competitions, entries will be scored on taste (10 points), appearance (5 points), and originality (5 points).

OOC: I am shamelessly borrowing the instructions from past competitions! You'll be given parchment and can use that to describe your dish. The format will be to start with the appearance and then describe the taste in separate paragraphs. Here's an example, inspired by a legendary IRL recipe:

Code: Select all

Garth’s Breakfast Bowl

Appearance:
Eight fried hash browns are laid out in a pinwheel pattern in a wide bowl,
forming a base upon which a handful of cheese and garlic tortellini rests in
a layer, with pieces of sausage dotted around it. Ontop of that are several
pieces of crispy bacon, forming a shelf for a scoop of softly scrambled eggs
to rest. A sprinkling of cheddar cheese is layered on the eggs, melting slightly
into them.

Taste:
The eggs are soft and silky, and get a pleasing richness from the cheese melted
into them. The bacon has a little crunch to it and a decadent fattiness, while
the cheese and garlic tortellini provides some stoutness to the dish. The sausage
is sweet and savory, complementing the crisp fried hash browns.
