stabbing

Post by Legault » Tue Nov 30, 2004 10:29 pm

I have noticed that whenever I am fighting something it always says your slash devastates or your slash anhaliates is there a way when we are making any mobs that would go in our area, that we can make them stab?
And if so how?

If the weapon you wear is a dagger or short sword, then they will 'pierce.' This could be used as a stabbing means.

Athon is completely right, If you have a dagger or short sword you pierce, Long sword or any kind of that sort Slash if you have a mace or hammer its a Crush. So to pierce is just like stabbing then you always have the good ole Back stab

Not always the case. Certain weapons can be specifically set to do "pierce" damage, or "slash" damage. It's the builders choice, but if it is not specified, it is defaulted to the weapon classes default (usually slash for swords, etc)

How do you set that, and what all is coded, is there a list? I know pierce, crush, slash, claw, bite, punch...what else?

Hmm... Well, I've never built on this mud, so I'm unsure of the base Smaug changes.

Back in the day, I did some MINOR builing for a totally stock Smaug code base. I used some of the suggestions hanging around the web. Here's where stock weapon types are found in stock Smaug: http://webhome.idirect.com/~helspawn/sm ... s.html#H10

Value 4 in stock is used to classify the weapon, i.e. a dagger, a sword, a club, etc. Value 3 is used to define the damagetype, i.e. thrust, pierce, crush, etc.

However, these might be different than what FK uses.
