Wemics and Centaurs - Spirited Charge and Trample

Post by Glim » Thu Jul 28, 2005 5:07 am

Hmm, curious, but would it be possible to make it so wemics and centaurs are able to take the spirited charge and trample feats without taking mounted combat and being able to use them without being mounted?

Would this even be possible to code?

I merely say this because in the Races of Faerun, for both wemics and centaurs, under racial feats it says:
Racial Feats: None, but <wemics and centaurs> can aquire the Spirited Charge and Trample feats (ignoring the prerequisites) and apply the benefit to their own melee attacks
Just an idea I thought would be fairly neat. :)
Glim asks Gwain 'Can I be on the watch?!?'
Gwain raises an eyebrow.
Gwain seems to display a look of complete horror for a second...

I like the idea of trample being allowed for centaur/wemic to learn without the prerequisites but spirited charge might be a bit unbalancing due to the fact that centuar/wemic are already powerhouses right out of character creation.

If this were tabletop, where a DM could enforce centaurs RPing their limitations, I would agree. But, in spite of Races of Faerun, I would vote a "no" to in on FK. Centaurs already get massive coded combat bonuses over other chars, up to a 26 str, 24 con, the ability to dual wield two medium weapons below grandmaster, wielding large weapons single handed, among others. They have a lot of coded plusses, with mostly RPed minuses, adding two combat feats to these plusses only makes them more imbalanced, in my opinion.

Aren't they unable to wear leg armour? That's still a pretty darn big minus... plus it seems the twinks are getting taken care of well enough.

I think there was a topic somewhere where Sharni said they can use leg barding, that this is in game already, and i even think i have seen it already. So, while leg armor might not be as readily available as for humanoids, it is still there.
