Apparition

Post by Layem » Sat Sep 03, 2005 5:58 am

Ok, here goes another spell.

This would be for illusionists. The spell description in Complete Arcane says that the caster takes on a horrible expression on their face. This could include blue skin, parrot face, elephantine nose, rotting tusks, whatever to throw off your enemy. This causes the enemy to become shaken, which in FK I think could be interpreted into something like the person drops their weapon or loses and attack round. It could work a lot like bash in the sense that it has a low success rate.

There is already a bash like spell for us illusionists. And when GMed it is quiet a potent spell. Color Spray. Can be cast like 20389420398 times before you need to memorize more too.

This wouldn't be a bash spell, I meant it would be like bash in the sense that it would have a low success rate. The spell itself would cause the enemy to become 'shaken' which in FK terms could mean he would drop his weapon or lose an attack phase or something.

Maybe it could have the effects like those of eltsac's fear, seeing as that spell doesn't seem to be distributed much in game since that character's player appears to be absent?

Eltsac's Fear works as a forced flee to monsters. I want the spell to work against PCs and NPCs but not have the affect a forced flee. That would probably be abused too much. Instead a simple weapon drop or an attack reduction would be used.

RE: Paladins vs. Fear

An interesting concept and I like the inclusion of new spells that aren't "instakill" in nature.

However, if this were coded, they'd have to include the paladin's natural resistance to fear and spell-induced fear.
Helm keep thee.
