Lent?
Lent?
Just curious. What did everyone give up for lent? That is, if you actually practice lent. Personally, I gave up every drink except water.

Lent is the fast before Easter that's supposed to remind folk of what Jesus sacrificed by giving them the imperative to sacrifice something they like for 40 days. Not exactly like saying "Ok, drum some nails through my wrists and let me hang here and suffocate over the course of a day or so," but then, we're only mortal.
Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, started out as the festival to get rid of all the fatty, tasty foods that most people avoided eating during Lent. How the flashing started, I'm not sure.
I don't celebrate lent anymore, as I've morphed into some mix of a dirty athiest and a dirty Buddhist.

Dear Enemy: May the Lord hate you and all your kind, may you be turned orange in hue, and may your head fall off at an awkward moment.
I don't know how appropriate it is to really talk about outisde things on the mud forums like what you gave up for lent and such, maybe try to keep it to a minium...i've been in this boat myself. just my thoughts.
Justice is not neccesarily honourable, it is a tolerable business, in essence you tolerate honour until it impedes justice, then you do what is right.
