FK Current era and the Elven Retreat

Post by Kregor » Thu May 12, 2005 3:01 am

Where is the current era of FK in regards to the Elven Retreat?

2nd ed. Was set pretty much well within the Retreat, with very tight pockets of remaining elves scattered abouttheir old territories in Faerun.

3rd Ed. supplements mark the end of the Retreat, with elves beginning a return from their seclusion from Evermeet and Everaska.

So... in RP elven characters from Evermeet are able to ICly mention the events that were covered in Elaine Cunningham's books? The ones about the drow attacks on the island, etc... Just curious, thanks!

Keeping this post nice and short as I have a head-ache.

Here is general information on the Green Isle:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evermeet

And in refrence to the Retreat:
http://www.myth-drannor.net/Dlabraddath ... etreat.htm

The main reason for the retreat is a general failing of Elven powers across the Realms.(powers being cities and the like, not magics) The elves then retreated to Evermeet and Evereska.

I recall there being a secret mythal being formed somewhere to the far north. Does anyone know/remember anything on it?

Evereska certainly had a Mythal, possibly Silverymoon also... since both were in existence at the time if the height of Myth Drannor

This is a nice thread about Evereska

That is a good webpage Kelemvor.
I do not think the place I am thinking of is Evereska, though I might be wrong... or my headache is slipping through.
Well, I remember reading about it from the book Evermeet...
Or was it one of the Elminster books...

I do not know what context you are taking that word from, but I would say that daemon'fey is a reference to fey'ri and other demonic creatures. (fey'ri in particular being a cross between demons and sun elves).

I think the one you're referring to, is that after Evermeet was attacked, Queen Amarluil sent her son to the north, to create a truly secret secret secret city for the elves, in the tundra. That might be it?

That would be the one. :P
My headache is gone today and that rings bells all over the place.

Now back to my question: What/where is it?

I don't think we know any more than that. I'd certainly be interested in what happened with it, but (unless other books have covered it since) I don't think it was ever really mentioned again.

Maybe in the newest books about the demonfey and the elves, it might be mentioned? Considering the whole elfyness and Evermeet subject, it would be the proper place to "slip it in".

Other than that... maybe when an Evermeet supplement comes out for 3E, it'd cover the new city?

maybe evermeet will but I doubt it. Still the tree of souls was brought with them so I fully expect them to bring forth a mythal there. As for other places that could see to be raised or fading mythals I think there is quite a few that could be added into the game I fully recommend lost empires of faerun book it is a wonderful read

Having just read "Evermeet: Isle of Elves" (a fundamental read for anyone who is interested in roleplaying elves), I can say that Prince Lamruil has taken the Tree of Souls, along with many elves (and his human wife, Maura) to the north. There, he intends to form a new elven settlement on an island in the middle of a vast sea of ice.

That's some more detail, if anyone at all was actually interested. :)
